After his years in Austin, he continued with the University of Texas system by heading to Houston to study at the University of Texas Medical School at their Health Science Center. He followed medical school with an internship at Herman Hospital in Houston and completed his residency in the division of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Board Certified in 1973 as a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he moved back to Fort Worth to open his practice. An active member of a number of professional organizations, he has hospital privileges for surgery and medical care for orthopaedic issues at the following hospitals:
