Dr Rizzo, is an excellent dermatologist. He is compassionate, he listens to your concerns, takes his time with the patient and he is an exceptional doctor so hard to find these days. I can’t recommend him enough. Go see him if you have any skin problems or hair loss. THE BEST !!!

Dr. Amilcar Rizzo received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology at UCLA. He subsequently received a full scholarship and his MD degree at UC Davis School of Medicine, where he also graduated with the Loren D. Carlson Award—the highest research award given to a graduating medical student. Dr. Rizzo completed a surgical internship at the UCSF-East bay program. He then completed a dermatology residency at New York Medical College. Throughout his career he has conducted basic and clinical research with funding from the NIH and also the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Fellows Program. He has published several articles in the leading dermatologic journal, Journal of Investigative Dermatology, and presented at multiple national and regional meetings. Dr. Rizzo's clinical interests are in practicing medical and surgical dermatology. He is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Rizzo is dedicated in providing excellent patient care with educational, preventative, and leading-edge clinical updates.

The doctor forgot to send my prescription to the pharmacy, and his office did not help us reach him in a timely manner. After a 5 minute consultation, you think the doctor could at least send in my prescription! Really disappointed, especially with the inability of his staff to fix the error quickly.

Excellent visit! The doctor and his staff were friendly and thorough, and addressed my concern with thoughtfulness. I had to get an injection and the doctor and his nurse were caring and calming throughout the procedure. Front desk was friendly and efficient, and COVID protocols were apparent throughout the office. I look forward to my next visit with Dr. Rizzo.

Wonderful experience. I went for a general skin check (my first in 5 years) and a few general skin questions. The office is run efficiently and everyone was very pleasant from reception through nursing staff. Dr. Rizzo listened to my concerns and responded to each one. I have been looking for a dermatologist for general medical needs and would accept my Medicare plus Supplemental insurance. So glad that my friend recommended him. Also the local pharmacy that he sent my Rx to had the medication I needed and was able to give it to me after only a 5 minute wait, which I appreciated since I don't live in the neighborhood.

I went to Dr. Rizzo because of a medical concern. In the past, I had gone to a few dermatologists who were more about appearance than medicine. Dr. Rizzo is a DOCTOR. I really appreciated how he fully explained what I needed to know and answered all my questions. This is a good doctor.
