My appointment was for an ACL tear, I got reference from couple of my friends. Dr Mattalino is very knowledgeable, spent a lot of time with me to explain my case, my options, everything in details. He spent as much as time I needed with me and answered all the questions I have. The wait time was around 30 minutes but that is wait is really worth! I wouldn't mind waiting longer to meet such a nice doctor like him.

While Dr. Mattalino is an excellent surgeon and has done an amazing job on my knee surgery, I think that he was extremely rushed today. I knew I had the appointment and that there was a possibility of the first of 3 orthovisc injections, but I only knew about the injections because I received several phone calls from my insurance company and the company providing the medication. I was never directly informed by Dr. Mattalino's office about what was to be done today. When Dr. Mattalino finally saw me (about 45 minutes past my appointment time) he thought I was there for the third injection and was surprised when I told him I had never had one yet. The injection went fine and he was very good about talking me through it, but there was never any conversation about what to expect AFTER the injection or what I could or couldn't do. I had to ask him, however I'm still rather worried because my knee is now aching rather badly. If it persists through the night I'll obviously have to contact the office tomorrow.

Dr. Mattalino did a meniscus repair on my knee 3 years ago. When I tore my rotator cuff - I knew who to call....he did a great job on my shoulder and I never had to take narcotics or pain pills - now, if only physical therapy was as easy!!!

Dr.Mattalino was awesome. He sat down and was very personable with me as well as took great care. He works at a fast pace in order to get the job done and I was able to make my follow up appointment from an MRI in the same week, which you can't find at a lot of places. I appreciate the time and effort that was spent and I will definitely be recommending him to others.

I waited 1.75 hours after my appointment time to see Dr Mattalino. I was on the perturbed side, but after meeting with him and seeing his concern and expertise displayed, I was able to get past that. I would hope every visit is not that long a wait and that this was a one time thing.

The visit went well. Check my knee out. Gave me 3 option on how we could treat the damage. Concerned about the swelling. Has me set up to check for blood clot. Set up pre op with my family Dr. Very happy with him
Other Dr. new about the swelling and just gave me a prescription. Said nothing about pre op. That is why I wanted a second opinion. Best thing I could have done. I feel very conformable with Dr. Mattalino.

Our experience with Dr Mattalino and His office manager Mary have been nothing short of fantastic! Dr Matt treated my son for an ACL injury two years ago and my son had a record recovery and was able to get back to playing football his senior year when he was told by many that he wouldn't be able to return!
Fast forward to just a couple days ago, my son had another knee injury while playing college football. He is in Tucson. I called Mary and she was unbelievably fantastic! She told me that they would see my son this same day whenever he can get into town to just give her a heads up that we would be on our way! She made arrangements to get MRI done this same day as well.
As soon as we saw Dr Matt and pretty much knew the extent of his injury (still to await results of MRI) she tenativally scheduled him to have surgery two days later!
The next day we got results of MRI and confirmed Dr Matt's diagnoses. Without no incidence Mary was on top of things and made all arrangements to get surgery done the very next day! She went above and beyond!!!
I highly recommend Dr Mattalino!!

This has to be one of the most efficient medical offices that I have ever been to. Once my referral was received Dr. Mattalino's staff got everything arraigned for a MRI and follow up appointment to discuss the report. Doc said it's the office staff but I feel it is just a pride by all to help and do a good job. I am so glad I found this doctor.

He made us all feel welcome and comfortable, he explained everything and was very thorough. He made my very shy son talk about his injury and where it hurt and he talked to him instead of at him.
Mary up front helped out a ton we sat there as she make phone calls and got us scheduled for an MRI the same day.

Very "user- friendly". Dr. M. explains issues and options thoroughly, using pictures and models if necessary. I understood completely what was going on with my rotator cuff, and my treatment options. I appreciated his friendly upbed+ manner !
