Dr. Arthur attended Yale University, where she received her medical degree. She completed a rotating intership at St. Vincent's Medical Center, a residency in ophthalmology at Case Western Reserve University and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital.
Dr. Arthur is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the National Medical Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. We were an afternoon appt in a day when school was out, so the office was running a bit behind. That said, the waiting room is very pleasant, cartoons and books are there for kids and the staff is great. Dr. Arthur is tremendous. She has an energetic yet nurturing manner. It's a big process for a 7 year old to have a full vision work up and my daughter felt completely comfortable and encouraged the whole time. The office also takes Medicaid, which is truly wonderful. There was no sense of lowered expectations just because of our children's health insurance status. Could not be more pleased.

I was very happy with my visit. The Dr. was very thorough with my examination and explained every question and concerns I had in detail. I will recommend her to my friends and colleagues. The staff was very pleasant and friendly.

Great bedside manner, however was given wrong glasses script.
When I tried to explain this over the phone, they told me to come in for a follow-up, and that this would not be charged. When I arrived at the office (taking hours off work), they told me that I would be charged. It took approximately 2 hours of negotiating with utmost diplomacy to eventually see their optometric assistant who took another look at my script, saying that indeed it was looking very cloudy but told me that if I wanted a confirmation and an updated script, I would need to be charged.
Politely pointed to the fact that it was ridiculous to be charged when they had given me an incorrect script (to no avail).
Went to the wonderful people at Lenscrafters Midtown who in good faith did not charge me for a correct script, received my corrected glasses from them within the hour.
I was really hoping to have an optometrist that was part of the community and was willing to take time off work for this, but when a policy is inflexible and ungenerous, it’s hard to abide.
You’ve lost my business.

Dr. Arthur and her staff were kind and listened, I took my 8 year old who has autism. Dr. Arthur took her time with my little one and explained what she was doing before she did it. She was honest with me about my little ones vision and I was thankful for that!!!
