Dr. Shepps was very friendly and funny and put me at ease. I would definitely recommend this practice. My appointment was at 9am and I would definitely recommend booking an earlier appointment as the waiting room tended to fill up as the morning went on. The nurses and assistants were very thorough and friendly and the office was clean and efficient. Overall this was an excellent experience!
Great doctor. One hour wait to be seen.
I thought my visit to the office was satisfactory. Dr Sheppes and associates were cordial. I came on time. It took three hours to get done. I NEEDED A COPY OF MY REPORT. THEY SAID IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE ON THE WEB SITE. IT WAS NOT. ONLY THE TESTS PERFORMED ARE LISTED. I SAW DR SHEPPES ON THURSDAY, JUNE 16, AT 10:30 AM. IT IS NOW JULY 6, THREE (3) WEEKS LATER. AFTER MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS THE REPORT STILL "IS IN THE MAIL".--"SHOULD ARRIVE TOMORROW", ETC. ETC BEWARE!! BEWARE!! OF THIS OFFICE..
I was able to make the same day appointment and be seen promptly. Very satisfied!
Only issue is I was there 2 hours being passed from one person to another
He is very professional and trustable and explained very well about situations and questions.
Dr. Shepps had a wonderfully calming presence. The office was efficient and every staff member was a pleasure to interact with.
I had a morning appointment and was stuck in the office until nearly 3p. The initial delay and crowded waiting room was understandable, as a staff member was out with an emergency that day. But after my appointment, I had to wait nearly an hour to get my glasses prescription, which was massively delayed for some reason. I was suffering a headache, and the wait seemed interminable. I just had to prop myself up and sit there. The doctor is very nice, however.
Absolutely horrendous experience. I waited for an hour. The doctor came out saying I have not right to demand that I be seen on time or within reasonable time period and to leave if I didn't like it. It's unbelievable this is a doctors office.
Proffesional staff and friendly.
Had a 9:45 AM appointment. No wait. Thorough pretesting by Optometrist and technician. Dr. Shepps, carefully reviewed results, examined me further, discussed his findings at length with me along with his recommendations as to options to consider. Listened carefully and answered all questions. Very satisfied.
Dr Shepps is very corteous, and so are his assistants. However, the appointment itself felt slightly rushed. I don't mind at all that tests would be performed by associates (I think that is entirely ok, so long as they are qualified and trained, and all his colleagues seemed to be excellent and professional). But I expect the exam itself by the Dr to be thorough, and the Doctor to know why he is seeing me / be fully informed of the situation. Me having to repeat why I needed an indepth eye test at every stage of the process was not ideal. And the actual exam with him was the fastest eye exam I ever had.
Was very busy in the office when I went in so the wait time was a little longer than I expected but it was very organized :) Had a very pleasant visit!
Seemed a bit like as assembly line. Even the staff was complaining about too many patients.
I was amused to see multiple assistants moving my file.
I really like Dr. Shepps. I have seen him three years in a row now for regular checkups. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. I trust him. But I dread going to that office. It's like a factory. There are so many patients being processed through that it always takes about 2.5 hours just for an annual checkup. They take you right away. But after each different eye test they make you wait in a tiny crowded and uncomfortable space for at least 20 minutes before they call you. Then they put you in a treatment room and say someone will be right there, but no one comes for at least 15 more minutes or longer. After they dilated my pupils it was an hour before I got to see the doctor. It is so inefficient. The staff nurses are very sweet and doing their best but they are all killing themselves trying to help everybody. There are just too many customers for each time slot. It feels like Lucy and Ethel in the chocolate factory. I made an appointment for my husband but he ran out of patience and left before he was even seen. I will keep going there every year because it's not too often and I like my doctor. If I needed to go frequently, however, I might choose a different practice.
Dr. Shepps was extremely thoughtful in his manner. Since this was my first visit, he went through my medical history, followed by an examination. He then explained a home care treatment to help my dry eyes. The entire visit was long, about an hour and a half, but it included a battery of tests. I left feeling that I finally found a great opthalmologist!
I found him arrogant and patronizing...In addition the overall office experience was very odd. I was given at least 6 tests by 2 different staff members and in between was examined by a Doctor, but not Dr.Shepp. This was a long thorough exam. When I inquired if I was going to actually see Dr Shepp , who I had the actual appointment with...they said " yes but at the every end ". I was there for close to 2 hours... somebody should have explained how this visit would work.
Modern equipment, professional staff, thorough examination.
Very knowledgable and highly professional. I feel secure with him my first visit,
I had to wait 2 hours to actually see Dr. Shepps. I was told to sit and wait in various rooms and hallways 4 times (not including the initial waiting in the actual waiting room). I believe the only reason I got out when I did was because I walked out and asked when I was being seen because I really had to get back to my office. This was easy since a doctor and 3 other associates in scrubs were hanging out and talking right outside my door. When I checked out the guy checking me out literally sighed when I asked if I could order my contact lenses. He also avoided eye contact with me and barely said a word while making annoyed faces. Completely rude. There were more issues how my exam was actually handled as well like reasons for particular tests not being explained properly as to why they wanted to administer them and my possible options. Overall, I did not enjoy my visit and I did not feel comfortable. I think if someone is going to you office in the middle of the day in the Financial District then they should be more respectful when someone needs to get back to work.
Excellent eye specialist.
I felt very comfortable right away. He has the right staff who made my visit feel very inviting.
Great staff and clean nice office. Dr. Shepps is excellent - really cares and knows his stuff.
Good visit overall, great staff and nurses. I saw the assistant doctor first, and only saw Dr. Shepps for a few minutes but he was very efficient and courteous.
An extremely well run office. Very client friendly. I wish all doctors' offices ran this well.
Really good doctor. Already told my husband to go see him. He and his staff were very courteous. I had a little wait but they were very apologetic. Clean office and competent staff. Doctor had great bedside manner and really took his time with me.
Excellent maners, was great at explaining the situation and the exams, offered future support.
Dr. Shepps is a fine doctor. Bedside manner is a little rough, but maybe that is what it means to be an eye doctor in New York. This is my third time in the office. Each time I have been here, the wait time has been surreal. I am in the room right now. It took 45 minutes for someone to check my eyes. I have been here for a total of 80 minutes, and still have not seen the doctor. This doesn't seem right. Does it seem right? I have got to find another eye doctor.
I had been to 2 doctors, one of them being another eye doctor, and I had gotten misdiagnosed with two different eye infections. Dr. Shepps was finally able to correctly diagnose me and give me a proper plan for relief and recovery. Although I had to wait over an hour for my appointment, which I definitely didn't appreciate, the correct diagnosis made it worth my while. Would recommend!
All the staff were friendly and professional. A great experience.
Great front desk and pleasant assistants for sure. Much better run than my old eye doctor's office in New Jersey. Glad I made the switch.
Great Staff and awesome Doctor
very courteous, allowed time for questions, front office staff seemed a bit frazzled.
Excellent doctor. Extensive knowledge, thorough and good bedside manner. Highly recommend!
First of all, right when I walked into the office I loved the atmosphere and I was welcomed greatly by the front desk. Dr. Shepps was so kind and answered all my questions well. I felt great about everything when I left. I will be returning back to this office and hopefully will recieve Lasik in the future here.
The office was pleasant and all of the receptionists and nurses/technicians were incredibly sweet and caring. Their demeanor and patient interaction really stood out compared to other offices. I liked Dr. Shepps and he gave me a lot of information.
Sincerely like this doctor and their office. There's a little bit of a wait but they are thorough so that's good. :)
Dr. Shepps is great, but the office around him could communicate better among all the staff members.
Very kind and professional staff ( a smile and kindness goes such a long way!) Dr. Shepps gave me the feeling that I am in good hands. I had some worries about my eyes but those were put at ease and I feel like I found the right Doctor to help me with my eye health problems.
I spent most of my visit being shuttled from one room to another for different tests without getting an adequate explanation of what they were for. In addition, I wasn't told one of the tests wasn't covered by my vision plan until AFTER it had been done.
Good doctors, no frills office.
He was highly professional and personable. I was relaxed and felt I was in good hands..
The staff was very courteous and efficient. Everything was orchestrated so that I was never left sitting alone for more than a moment, and the appointment moved along very quickly. The doctor was friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions.
Thought it was run like a well oiled machine. There was no shortage of staff and they were all very polite and professional. They ran tests and escorted you from one room to another until you're seen by the Doctor. I found Dr. Shepps delightful and very knowledgeable. Wait time was minimal which is always a plus when you're trying to get back to work. This was my first time there and I will definitely go again and recommend to others.
The doctor was very informative and friendly. Took his time with me and answered all my questions. The staff was friendly too. Smooth and easy appointment!
I waited two hours to see the doctor for literally 30 seconds. This has happened every time over the last 3 years I have come for my annual check-up. This is highly unprofessional to make paying patients wait so long for a simple check and will be my last time coming here. It's absurd that a professional would so carelessly make other professionals (whose time is just as valuable) wait so long. You would think that having patients who work in fast paced and time sensitive jobs in NYC would drive him to schedule patients more appropriately and efficiently but I guess that is not the case.
Very thorough and professional!
My visit was extremely pleasant. Everyone in the office was polite and helpful. And Dr. Shepp was thorough but quick which was great, since I was able to go during my lunch break.
had my followup with Dr. Schepps. So grateful for his care through this scary episode of Recurrent Corneal Erosion. He was so attentive, proactive, and reassuring. He didn't jump to an immediate invasive solution, but caringly took the last 2 weeks to use organic methods to guide my own body to heal itself. Thanks Doc!
He was able to diagnose my problem and restored my vision as it was over 3 years ago! A very significant improvement in one hour!
Dr. Shepps and his staff were incredibly nice and helpful in efficiently moving between rooms for tests when necessary. Dr. Shepps himself had a better bedside manner than any other doctor I've been too -- sort of how you would wish your primary care doctor to be. I've already recommended him to others after one visit.
He is very nice guy, Explained in detail about the problem
First and foremost, Dr. Schepps is the best ophthalmologist in New York. He has been my doctor for 15+ years and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my eyes. I went to the office today at 11:30. I called at 10:30 because I have recurrent corneal erosion and was having a bad flare up,i.e.:excruciating pain. The nursing staff was thoughtful and accommodating. They said come in right away. I will admit, I have had appointments where I had to wait longer than I wanted to for my regular checkup, but today I realized why. Dr. Schepps and his staff, will never turn me away and always find a way to be of service, I will always have a bit more empathy now, knowing they could be running a bit behind because someone is being treated who is in greater need at that moment than I. It's not just a top notch practice, it's a caring practice…as I left Dr. Schepps was very graciously caring for the sweetest older lady, explaining with patience and details her upcoming procedure. In the end, my eye pain has subsided and I will have a follow up tomorrow.
I was very happy with this visit. Since it was my first time seeing Dr. Shepps, I arrived early to fill out forms. That took 10 or so minutes and the receptionist was very courteous. Then I got around to getting a bunch of tests done - that took time but the person (some sort of lab assistant?) was also courteous, patient and explained everything. Saw Dr. Shepps' assistant Dr. for a prelinary test and she was perfectly fine. Finally, I saw Dr. Shepps who was professional, patient, took his time to explain, answer all my questions, wasn't pushy or condescending (a problem I had with a previous doctor). Overall, I felt confident placing my trust in him for my eye care. And huge thanks to the lab assistant or whatever her title is that did all the tests on me. Really great, kept me relaxed, informed and was super patient.
Very personable, took his time to discuss everything with me, all around great visit!
First time visiting this doctor and first time using ZocDoc and I couldn't be happier. The staff is very professional and friendly and the doctors there are friendly and knowledgeable. We went over my medical history in detail and their bedside manner was outstanding, taking their time to go over every part of my examination in detail.
Clean place, great staff and updated equipment. Glad I found him using ZocDoc. Will continue to use him.
Very informative; professional; ;good communicator. An efficient process for sure.
Been going to Dr Shepps for over 10 years. He's amazing.
As always, quality care provided.
My visit with Dr Shepps and his staff was incredibly thorough. His staff was friendly, informative and efficient with conducting many tests prior to my exam. Dr Shepps conducted the exam and is thoughtful, concerned, down-to-earth and professional. And when I was finished I chose new glasses with the expert help Magaly Torres who always helps me find glasses that work, look great and are fashionable.
Doctor Shepps seems to be very professional and I feel very confident about him. Since it was my first appointment I can not tell much more about him. My first impression about him was very good and I would recommend him to a friend or colleague.
The Best in Business
Dr. Schleps was very professional and thorough. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.
He is a excellent doctor, beside manner could improve. Not very personable.
Dr Shepps and his associates were wonderful!
I had a 15 minute wait when I arrived, which is not too bad, especially since I was 10 minutes late. The support staff was friendly and helpful. I was first seen by another doctor who took initial notes and had me take a few tests. After this, I was seen by Dr. Shepps. He walked in the room without acknowledging me, and sat down and looked at his chart. He then looked at me, and when I looked at him, he stared, looked away, and went back to his paperwork. When he finally decided to talk, he didn't seem too interested in the specific issues I had. He wrote them off and suggested basic issues (which I'm sure he encounters regularly), and when I told him that wasn't the problem, he ignored me. He then asked me if I had got a pamphlet, and chastised me for not reading along with him as he described it's contents (I had my pupils dialated and couldn't look at the paper). Overall, he was extremely condescending and rude. He might technically be an intelligent doctor, but his people skills were lacking and I felt uncomfortable for the entire time we were together.
He was very professional and took my concerns seriously.
VERY THERAL EXAM!
I was there for a long time because they were very thorough
I was surprised by Dr. Shepps's willingness to remain in the examination room with me until all of my questions were thoroughly answered. He never implied that he was rushed or appeared as though he wanted to cut my appointment short.
Over an hour long wait to be seen for only 3 minutes. Felt dismissed and couldn't even ask my questions before I was shown the door.
Fine. A bit slow, due to waiting at different stages during the appt. but not terrible. I'll go back.
Comprehensive, Practical and Professional Nice new office which is busy, but, run quite efficiently Offered a number of work stations to keep me moving through the evaluation process...including contacts, frames and lenses. Presented practical solutions to distance and reading issues and Dr. Shepps is quick to offer opinions based on experience
Dr. Shepps was great
Very Professional and respectful. Will be going back again!
It took a little long to get seen, but Dr. Shepps was good enough that i'll be back.
My appointment was at 12:45 and I wasn't seen until 1:23 which means i wasnt out till after 2:00. I had to go back to work so the wait was a little more annoying than if I had nothing else to do afterwards.
Long wait, quick rushed-through visit, some questions left unanswered, the only "cure" for any problems is glasses prescription.
Dr Shepps was very nice and professional. Made me feel very comfortable and answered my questions with patience. The staff at Associate Ophthalmologists was knowledgable and courteous. I will definitely recommend Dr Shepps to friends and family.
Dr. Shepps is very personable and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable with his diagnosis along with his support staff. Everyone was courteous. I would recommend this office to my colleagues and friends. Although I didn't think I would be in the office longer than a half hour; I am 100% appreciative on how thoroughly examined I was. I'm completely satisfied with the answers to questions I posed for both Dr. Fung and Dr. Shepps.
Excellent - extremely professional and courteous staff, clean and modern office.
He might be an excellent surgeon and he certainly seems to know his stuff; however, I had so little actual time with him personally, it's hard to judge. His support staff is vast and most of the tests are delegated to "unknown, no-named" credentialed folks who don't even introduce themselves properly; however, they seemed competent though you don't get to see any of the results of the actual tests they are running. Recommended lens replacement surgery for me, I will definately get a second opinion and maybe shop for someone with more "time" to spend on questions and a better beside manner. Felt like an "eye surgery factory."
Rude and rushed--
Great visit- in and out in 30 minutes.
While I do like Dr. Shepps and he certainly listened to me and explained things well, his office is a bit tatty. The restroom was filthy. The women who administer tests and do clerical tasks barely pay attention to the patients, chatting across the room about their personal lives. As i stated before, I like Dr. Shepps, but I really do not like the office atmosphere at all.
everyone was very nice
I thought Dr. Shepps is very knowledgeable, experienced and highly professional. Great experience overall.
Dr. Shepps was able to help me synthesize a great deal of information about my upcoming cataract surgery. He explained my options in layman's terms and was interested in my particular needs. I found his staff very helpful and professional. They have a professional demeanor and nice way of working together which made me feel comfortable. I was able to be seen, have all my tests and schedule the surgery for both eyes all in one visit.
The office staff was highly polite and professional and the office itself was state-of-the-art. I had to wait a bit to see Dr. Shepps but in the meantime I saw two of his colleagues (also doctors) who ran the tests I needed.
I was pleased with the doctor and his associates; good coordination with office staff as well. Everyone was cordial and competent. Definitely will return.
Not bad. Good place to go
I was seen by an optometrist for most of my appointment; Dr. Shepps popped in briefly and although it wasn't nearly as long as I'd like for some concerns I had (I assume it's because my case isn't surgery-related), his explanation to the problem I had was sufficient enough. You can tell he knows what he's talking about and that trumps bedside manners in my book. Sometimes.
Made a same-day appointment for some irritation in my eye. Friendly staff and doctor, attentive, competent. Great experience.
Dr. Shepps was friendly and explained things very clearly. The entire staff was professional and efficient. The office is really nice. I'd definitely go back.
Gerald Shepps is a true professional. Very polite and knows his craft. His staff his very nice as well and extremely helpful. I would strongly recommend this doctor.
Really professional, warm staff. Dr. Shepps was responsive and efficient. Highly recommend this office.
The office is incredibly clean and organized. The staff is professional and Dr. Shepps is great. There was some concern about glaucoma and they were able to do two quick tests to rule it out. Dr. Shepps explained everything clearly and eased my concerns. I recommend him highly.
Had a very thorough examination, but between waiting (almost an hour) and waiting for technicians to administer the tests, the appointment was about 2 1/4 hours.
Greg service. I had full thurough exam and I could fill my prescription after a full exam and my frames will be ready within the week with a 30 satisfaction guarantee. Good selection.
I was well taken care of and out within an hour.
Very knowledgeable. Listen to my concerns. Followed up and made sure I was ok.
Very professional. The office is very busy though so you may feel a bit rushed through. If you like being on a schedule and getting in and out, I would recommend.
Even though I waited for 45 min, I felt like I was rushed through the appointment because the doctor has too many patients. He barely talked to me, he rudely bossed around all his nurses and was trying to juggle 10 things at once. He proceeded to dilate my pupils without telling me that's what he was doing and then tells me "that will probably make your vision blurry for a few hours". Good thing I didnt have anything to do the rest of the day. I'm going to go ahead and go elsewhere next time.
As always, Shepps is the perfect blend of professional and friendly. The office is also very organized/efficient and everyone is a pleasure.
They did a good job of dilating my pupils early this time which saved time for both parties.
He did not answer one of the many questions I had, but the general impression is that he is very professional, as well as his team. And they have great equipment!
Comprehensive and impressive. In a word, excellent.
The people are great. The hour and a half wait is not. Try for an early appointment.
Best. Doctor. Ever. Very attentive and thorough. He's also pretty hot.
In my oppinion, Dr. Herald Sheps is one of the finest eye doctors. His thoughtful approach to the patients problems distinguish him from many others that I have ever met.
A little chaotic, but everyone I saw (two doctors and one assistant) was very nice and tried hard to put patients at ease.
Very knowledgeable and helpful.
Good Doctor. Wait time was longer than expected but overall a good experience. Very nice office in good location.
The staff was professional and I was seen in a timely manner, but the layout and setup of the office space was not very inviting and a bit dowdy if that sort of thing matters to you. They had the latest equipment, but in rather crowded spaces. I only was introduced to Dr. Shepps, briefly. All of the exam was carried out by a colleague who was very professional.
The doctor saw me for less than 5 minutes. He told me my eyes were dry looking and it was making me look older. Who says that to a twenty-something year old!?
I think he was very nice but I still have some unanswered question. I'll definitely go back to him and keep him as my glaucoma specialist. He seems very knowlageable. My husband thought he was the best doctor he has seen I a while!
Professionally run office with big smiles and helpful staff. Dr. Shepps was warm, engaging and answered all my questions.
Very professional. Took to time to give me options and advice.
Dr. Shepps was an excellent doctor and his staff are extraordinarily professional. I highly recommend him.
The staff and the doctor are excellent. The only thing that I felt was a little too much was the waiting time but they did apologize, and it may have been just for this visit. I strongly recommend and will make Dr. Shepps my official eye doctor.
Incomplete, i have a follow-up appointment in a few weeks.
Very professional and thorough but my wait time was one hour.
Everything about my visit was great. Staff was friendly. Dr. Shepps saw me within 5 minutes of my appointment time. Doctor did a great job explaining everything to me and has a fantastic sense of humor. I would highly recommend him to everyone.
He is the best!!!
I just needed to renew my contact lenses and felt pushed into exams that I didn't understand were necessary. My appointment was in the morning and Dr Shepps insisted on dialating my eyes - I couldn't risk impaired vision in the work I had to do following the visit, so now I have to go back. I just saw the charge, which wiped out 1/3 of my annual health care allocation, so am not particularly happy about another one. The office was packed and the exam area was uncomfortably small. My former doctor's office was a little less convenient, but you betcha, I'll take that over returning to Dr Shepps next year.
very knowledgeable and decisive
Dr. Shepps seems like a nice guy. I don't have the patience to wait an hour for each visit though. I'll go back for a follow up and see how long it takes...
Very professional and pleasant. Well run office.
Great doctor, very thorough. What I didn't like was they required a $40 charge on top of the copay for 'refraction'. You cant get a glasses prescription without it. Noone mentioned this when I made the appointment. Its misleading, They make you sign a form that you will pay $40 extra when you arrive. So I had to pay $60 including the copay, If I knew this I would have selected another doctor. Its their choice to charge, but its misleading not to tell you before you turn up for your appointment. This is why I wouldn't recommend this doctor. Other than that he was lovely.
Dr. Shepps is very professional with good bedside manner. His office is run efficiently with very pleasant staff.
I had a great experience.
Dr. Shepps was very informative and friendly. He didn't rush me through the exam and answered all my questions openly and directly. His staff was very professional and pleasant. What impressed me the most was that Dr. Schepps took the time to walk me through how I should maintain my daily eyecare regimen and personally made sure that I understood everything thoroughly before I left the office. One of the best eye doctor visits I've had in a long time!
He seems very knowledgeable, BUT I had to wait for over 2 hours because some politician had an appointment. He then rushed and didn't even want to hear about my eye history.
Very professional and thorough.
Dr. Shepps is direct and to the point. Ask him anything and you'll get an answer that you can understand. A+!
The doctor was helpful and obviously qualified. However, the office was so busy with patients that Doc. seemed to be a bit in a rush during the consultation. But for this impression and the 1-hour wait, things would have been pretty good.
I was minutes from walking out of the office after having to wait for an hour to see the doctor.
I've been his patient for over 25 years, and he's thorough and professional. Highly recommend!
Thorough and confidence-inspiring
At the time I went he was really busy, but he takes really good care of his patients and he gives you a fair treatment. I highly recommend him as your ophthalmologist.
Thorough and competent.
Everyone in the office was nice and professional.
The office isn't in great shape and the staff seems overwhelmed. Great doctor and bedside manner but a hell of a wait in an uncomfortable waiting area.
Went pretty smoothly, wait was closer to 30 than 60 min. No complaints
Other than a long wait time, my visit to Dr. Shepps was great.
The wait was a little long, but he and his office are thorough and easy to communicate with.
Very professional and knowledgeable. Staff was organized and helpful, and I felt well-attended to while in the office. I had a thorough eye exam and contact fitting in less than an hour on my first visit! After moving to the city and being wary about switching eye doctors away from my one at home, I am glad to have found Dr. Shepps and his team.
Very thorough and was more than happy to answer all my questions and make recommendations as to proper eyecare. Takes time to care for patients.
Very personable and seemingly intelligent doctor. He seems to build a relationship with each patient, which is impressive considering the volume of patients he must see.
Great staff, great visit, clean office. Dr. Shepps was professional and I highly recommend.
Very nice and patient, ready to hear about your concerns.
The office seemed really busy so I had to wait awhile. If I hadn't waited so long I would have had a much better recommendation.
great! warm and very thorough!
Did not seem to be listening; seemed to have a preconceived opinion about what he would offer me in terms of care and was rather resistant to hearing my view. He made statements more or less to the effect of, 'listen to me, do as I say do and if you don't, be it on your head'. I don't think he meant any harm but this is how he came of to me; rather patronizing.
Very friendly and professional. Only downside is a very long wait
Great experience, all positive experiences, would recommend him to anyone looking for an eye Dr.
competent doctor however my appt somehow wasn't in the system. I made it on zocdoc. so he had to squeeze me in and I waited almost an hour. office staff was nice but just one of those unfortunate instances where my appt didn't come up in the system.
Dr. Shepps and his staff were wonderful. I felt very comfortable with my visit. Everything was done in a timely fashion. He answered all my questions in a clear understanding manner. I will definitley follow up for my next visit. I would feel comfortable recommending Dr. Shepps to my family & friends.
Dr. Shepps was very thorough. Staff was very pleasant and on point. With the problem I had, the dr answered every question with out hesitation. He gave me samples of the drops I needed along with a script. Great care experience over all. I will return for my follow up.
Doctor performed adequately for a routine exam, and nothing terrible happened, but one did not feel like a valued patient to whom attention was being paid. Office staff seemed disorganized and bordered on rude. They had called three times (!) to confirm appointment time and collect insurance information, but seemed not to be expecting me when I arrived, and had not yet determined what the insurance did and did not cover. There was lots of moving around from one waiting room to another without actual progress, and then more waiting in a treatment room. It was nearly 2.5 hours before we saw the doctor, but no one acknowledged this, much less apologized or said how much longer it would take. Doctor seemed pretty casual for a first encounter. Halfway the exam, it occurred to him to say something in passing about "lots of emergencies, you know how it is," the way someone might mention "traffic's bad today." Finally, he said the drops he was putting in would wear off shortly; in fact, blurred vision and painful light sensitivity lasted for six hours. Basically, between waiting for the doctor and dealing with the consequences of a poorly explained procedure, the whole day was shot.
Dr. Shepps was incredibly friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed seeing him!
Great experience, very speedy service (booked and seen within an hour via ZocDoc) and professional advice. Deal with my eye problem really quickly and clearly. Staff at the practice were all really friendly and efficient.
Dr. Shepps is very thorough, knowledgeable and has great bedside manner. I would definitely recommend him.
Dr. Shepps took time to thoroughly explain a forthcoming procedure that I needed to have. However, the long office wait (well over 2 hours) was a real turn-off. I was one of his first patients of the day and had long waits between various tests that were performed.
He was really helpful and spent plenty of time with me. The only downside is the wait time in the office.
Well I would say there was quite a wait but I was told that ahead of time. I never got the feeling of being rushed along. Doctor seemed competent. :)
Very good service that was both quick and thorough. Although the care was great, his explanations were a bit cursory, so you should definitely make sure you ask questions to get as much information as you can.
Advise and Treatment was great, just a shame about the wait
The doctor behaved as if he is just too senior to see you! I think he is a specialist in certain areas and does not want to bother seeing patients who do not have severe problems (and guess so will not be high bill patients!) - that's fine, but then do not accept an appointment and tell patients upfront that he only sees patients with certain level of condition. He started raising his voice on me when I was not happy with the service he provided for my condition and wanted to discuss with him. He was also discorteous to his own staff. Also, they will try and charge your insurance for all he can - so be careful and review your bill. In addition, I had to wait more than an hour to see him even though I had an appointment - waste of time for such a bad service. I took time out from work and it was a major waste of my time. Don't make an appointment if you can't keep on time.
Dr. Shepps is confident in his delivery of information and seems very professional. Patients should probably know they should be aggressive about asking for clarification or further information, because Dr Shepps is not exactly going to seek your feedback or prod you to see whether you are satisfied with explanations.
Great doctor. Very informative and spent time discussing the rationale behind the provided care.
I was extremly satisfied with the overall experience with the doctor and staff. They accommadated me for an emergancy. I had to wait almost an hour, but it surely beat waiting in an ER. I was in so much pain while waiting, but the doc came out to the waiting room & put a drop in my eye that made me feel comfortable. I will definitley follow up as directed. Finally I found an eye doc who helped me in the time of need.
Very nice office; friendly and professional staff and physician.
I was very disappointed on how long I had to wait. Why bother stating a time avail for an appt when you're is served almost an hour later. Though, the doctor was informative.
I was very happy with Dr Shepps. He listened carefully to my description of my vision problem and was very thorough with testing. It turned out that I had a problem requiring a retinal specialist. I think had he not been so attentive it might have been missed. The best part was that he got me in to see a specialist right away, and I had laser surgery to treat the problem the same day. I'm extremely grateful.
