I always feel like I get the best care from Dr. Shepps. Given my familial history,he is super conservative and monitors me heavily so that at the first sign of an issue they can move fast. A little slow but he and his colleagues are awesome.

Office was very nice and professional. Had a 9:45 appointment and wasn't done till noon. Very assembly line feel--different people administered different tests and I had to sit on benches in the hallway for a long time in between. Only sawdoctor at very end and wish I had asked more questions.

The wait before I was seen by the nurse or other assistant was short, but then it was about a half hour to see the doctor, so i saw the doctor an hour after my appointment time. He was good, but I will have to plan accordingly for next time.

While Dr Shepps was very personable and easy to talk with, one of the other girls that spent the most time with me, wasn't as much. She said hello but didn't look at me and was reading something as she enteredthe room. Tried to make a brief small talk but not responsive to it at all. She asked me my name again at the end of my appt. after I've been there for an hour already. I think her name was Elise of Alissa. The other girls there were much more friendly in my opinion. At the checkout, I dealt with Olga and she was asking about a vision plan. I had to call my husband bc he was the policy holder. I had to put her on to talk to him bc he had more info. She seemed annoyed when i did that and her English was very hard to understand. All I all, the Dr was wonderful and will be but a few of the staff need some coaching on their bedside manners..

What stood out was the staff was friendly and competent. After about a 20-30 minute wait, I was attended to by three assistants/technicians who were wonderful to work with as they took various tests and photos of my eyes. When Ieventually saw Dr. Shepps, he was easy to talk to and made time to answer my questions. I was also seen by an optician for my first ever prescription for glasses. He made the process easy and pleasant. The whole appointment took two hours once I was seen. I am sending my husband to Dr. Shepps next week. Overall good experience!

Dr. Shepps was very friendly and funny and put me at ease. I would definitely recommend this practice. My appointment was at 9am and I would definitely recommend booking an earlier appointment as the waiting room tended to fill up asthe morning went on. The nurses and assistants were very thorough and friendly and the office was clean and efficient. Overall this was an excellent experience!

I thought my visit to the office was satisfactory. Dr Sheppes and associates were cordial. I came on time. It took three hours to get done. I NEEDED A COPY OF MY REPORT. THEY SAID IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE ON THEWEB SITE. IT WAS NOT. ONLY THE TESTS PERFORMED ARE LISTED. I SAW DR SHEPPES ON THURSDAY, JUNE 16, AT 10:30 AM. IT IS NOW JULY 6, THREE (3) WEEKS LATER. AFTER MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS THE REPORT STILL "IS IN THE MAIL".--"SHOULD ARRIVE TOMORROW", ETC. ETC BEWARE!! BEWARE!! OF THIS OFFICE..

I had a morning appointment and was stuck in the office until nearly 3p. The initial delay and crowded waiting room was understandable, as a staff member was out with an emergency that day. But after my appointment, I had towait nearly an hour to get my glasses prescription, which was massively delayed for some reason. I was suffering a headache, and the wait seemed interminable. I just had to prop myself up and sit there. The doctor is very nice, however.

Had a 9:45 AM appointment. No wait. Thorough pretesting by Optometrist and technician. Dr. Shepps, carefully reviewed results, examined me further, discussed his findings at length with me along with his recommendations as to options to consider. Listened carefully and answered all questions. Very satisfied.

Dr Shepps is very corteous, and so are his assistants. However, the appointment itself felt slightly rushed. I don't mind at all that tests would be performed by associates (I think that is entirely ok, so long as they are qualifiedand trained, and all his colleagues seemed to be excellent and professional). But I expect the exam itself by the Dr to be thorough, and the Doctor to know why he is seeing me / be fully informed of the situation. Me having to repeat why I needed an indepth eye test at every stage of the process was not ideal. And the actual exam with him was the fastest eye exam I ever had.

I really like Dr. Shepps. I have seen him three years in a row now for regular checkups. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. I trust him. But I dread going to that office. It's like a factory. There are somany patients being processed through that it always takes about 2.5 hours just for an annual checkup. They take you right away. But after each different eye test they make you wait in a tiny crowded and uncomfortable space for at least 20 minutes before they call you. Then they put you in a treatment room and say someone will be right there, but no one comes for at least 15 more minutes or longer. After they dilated my pupils it was an hour before I got to see the doctor. It is so inefficient. The staff nurses are very sweet and doing their best but they are all killing themselves trying to help everybody. There are just too many customers for each time slot. It feels like Lucy and Ethel in the chocolate factory. I made an appointment for my husband but he ran out of patience and left before he was even seen. I will keep going there every year because it's not too often and I like my doctor. If I needed to go frequently, however, I might choose a different practice.

Dr. Shepps was extremely thoughtful in his manner. Since this was my first visit, he went through my medical history, followed by an examination. He then explained a home care treatment to help my dry eyes. The entire visit was long, about an hour and a half, but it included a battery of tests. I left feeling that I finally found a great opthalmologist!

I found him arrogant and patronizing...In addition the overall office experience was very odd. I was given at least 6 tests by 2 different staff members and in between was examined by a Doctor, but not Dr.Shepp. This was a longthorough exam. When I inquired if I was going to actually see Dr Shepp , who I had the actual appointment with...they said " yes but at the every end ". I was there for close to 2 hours... somebody should have explained how this visit would work.

I had to wait 2 hours to actually see Dr. Shepps. I was told to sit and wait in various rooms and hallways 4 times (not including the initial waiting in the actual waiting room). I believe the only reason Igot out when I did was because I walked out and asked when I was being seen because I really had to get back to my office. This was easy since a doctor and 3 other associates in scrubs were hanging out and talking right outside my door. When I checked out the guy checking me out literally sighed when I asked if I could order my contact lenses. He also avoided eye contact with me and barely said a word while making annoyed faces. Completely rude. There were more issues how my exam was actually handled as well like reasons for particular tests not being explained properly as to why they wanted to administer them and my possible options. Overall, I did not enjoy my visit and I did not feel comfortable. I think if someone is going to you office in the middle of the day in the Financial District then they should be more respectful when someone needs to get back to work.
