Dr. Anoop Karippot received his medical degree from the Armed Forces Medical College. He completed his residency and fellowship training at University of Louisville School of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as by the American Board of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Karippot is the only Board Certified Sleep Medicine specialist in San Diego County with expertise and training in treating both adults and children. He is one of the few physicians certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine and is also a Registered Polysomnographer (RPSGT). He holds additional board certifications in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and General Psychiatry. He has been an active member of Standards of Practice Committee of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine with contributions to several current practice parameters in sleep medicine. He has numerous publications, abstracts, book chapters and oral presentations to his credit on various topics in sleep disorders. His special interests include sleep apnea in adults and children, narcolepsy and hypersomnias, restless leg syndrome, sleep in special needs population like ADHD and Autism, insomnia and nightmares.
