I scheduled an appt w/this “pain mgmnt” doc based upon the search criteria “pain medicine prescription.” I couldn’t spell out what I need & want any clearer. Though I had to sign an “opioid contract” in ton of paperwork, the doc tells me they don’t do pain meds, but instead targeted pain “interventions” focused on one area at a time. As I have 20+ painful joints & as my last 3 injections did not reduce my pain, it’s not reasonable for me to consider 20+ injections all over my body. I left w/no relief, just a scrip for a “nerve blocker” that “sometimes helps” joint pain. I looked it up & found it’s ALSO an anti-depressant. I have no interest in anti-depressants, even when also nerve blockers that “might” help some of my pain (while causing drowsiness- last thing someone w/autoimmune fatigue needs!)
I left there CRYING. i haven’t slept properly in weeks bc of pain. I’m hurting, frustrated, exhausted, & need pain meds. If you have chronic pain & NEED pain meds, don’t waste your time
