Dr. Anthony Mannarino is the founder of Century Eye Care. He has 25 years experience in ophthalmic surgery and has performed over 15,000 microsurgical procedures and many thousands of laser eye procedures. Dr. Mannarino earned his medical degree from Georgetown University in 1982 after graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Biology from Manhattan College. He completed his residency at George Washington University, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Mannarino is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He was an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Medicine at Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and an Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Temple University School of Medicine. Dr. Mannarino presently serves as a Clinical Ophthalmology Preceptor for the Aria Family Practice Program as well as Clinical Instructor for the School of Optometry at Salus University. He served as Chief of the Division of Ophthalmology for Lower Bucks Hospital for 14 years and presently is an attending surgeon at the Saint Mary Medical Center. His area of special interest is cataract surgery. He was one of the first to use folding devices to insert intraocular lenses and in 1997 was chosen as one of the forty ophthalmologists in the United States to initially implant multifocal/bifocal style implants. While others point to their surgical capabilities, Dr. Mannarino in fact has the lowest documented complication rate of any cataract surgeon in the region and amongst the lowest in the country.
