Asa T. Briggs, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice committed to providing compassionate, culturally responsive mental health care. Raised in rural South Carolina, Asa saw early on the gaps in mental health services for underserved communities—an experience that sparked his lifelong dedication to improving access and equity in psychiatric care.
Asa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Clemson University, a Master of Arts in Human Development and Psychology from Trevecca Nazarene University, and both a Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice in Mental Health from Vanderbilt University and Yale University, respectively. His interdisciplinary background informs a thoughtful, collaborative approach to care.
Grounded in nearly two decades of experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Asa partners closely with patients to create tailored, goal-oriented treatment plans. He believes in empowering individuals to take an active role in their healing and supports them in building resilience and lasting emotional well-being.
Outside of his clinical work, Asa enjoys golfing, traveling, and exploring global cuisines. Friendly and down-to-earth, he brings the same warmth and curiosity to his personal life as he does to his practice—making him a trusted ally in his patients’ journeys toward wellness.
