Parish Richard, LPCC

Psychotherapist
OH
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), licensed in Kentucky and Ohio. I graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Master's in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and earned a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. When it comes to therapy, everything is connected across the different pillars of life. We must show up for ourselves internally to reflect a better version of ourselves externally. My approach I am trained in EMDR and motivational interviewing, and I draw from various other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family systems, and Reality Therapy-but I'm definitely not limited to only these. My focus I have experience working with adults, families, children, and adolescents from diverse backgrounds. I've helped individuals with a variety of concerns, utilizing strategies tailored to each client's unique needs. My communication style I am not the therapist who will tell you what you want to hear but rather what is needed for your growth. I set clear standards for therapy upfront so there is never any confusion moving forward. Working with me means feeling seen and heard while also being encouraged to challenge yourself throughout the process. My journey to mental healthcare Therapy is the perfect environment to realize that many times we have the answers within ourselves; we just need help finding them. I enjoy guiding people to those conclusions while being a supportive hand along the way. I love witnessing the lightbulb moments and transformations that occur as clients take the driver's seat in their lives. My goals for you Goal setting is about creating realistic, attainable objectives that clients can reach while having input on how they want the journey to unfold. My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with.
