This was the first time that we met Dr Wong, and both my teenage son (the patient) and I were very well impressed. She was very thorough, dedicated us plenty of time and attention, and connected extremely well with my son. She offered very good suggestions in relation to my son's video-game hobby, and very sound recommendations about health in general. Excellent bed-side manner. Her technical assistant was also very smart, focused, effective, and nice.

Dr. Ashley Wong grew up in Rockville, MD. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Maryland. She then obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. During her optometric training she completed her externships in the Maryland, D.C. area at the Andrews Air Force Base, Baltimore Veteran Administration, and Eye Doctors of Washington.
Following graduation from optometry school, Dr. Wong completed a residency program at the Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in primary care with emphasis in pediatrics and binocular vision. Dr. Wong was one of the optometry residents chosen to train at the Bascom Palmer Eye Hospital dept. of pediatrics, one of the leading eye hospitals in the world. Dr. Wong is excited to return to the Eye Doctors of Washington. Her areas of interest include binocular vision, accommodation, amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (eye turn), pediatric primary care, and vision therapy for eye motility disorders. She sees patients at the N. Park Ave. Office.
In her spare time, Dr. Wong enjoys cooking, playing tennis, spending time with her dogs and traveling. She is fluent in Cantonese.

Dr. Wong was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to understand our son's particular problem and to investigate possible medical issues which may be related. She also has an excellent assistant who met with us first, did some preliminary test, and answered questions. Dr. Wong's office is at some distance from our house, but we took the trouble to go to that practice because we like Dr. Vincente and Dr. Wong.

Just to be clear on the wait time: my daughter was seen promptly by Dr. Wong's assistant who performed a preliminary exam and eyedrops. We then waited 30 minutes before being seen by Dr. Wong. 15 of those minutes were required for the eyedrops to properly dialate the pupils for the exam.

LOVE this doctor and practice. We arrived early for our appt and they got us in early (which we were hoping for!) Dr. Wong is AWESOME and we very much value a great bedside manner (which she has!) Would recommend this doctor/office to anyone!
