SUCH A LONG WAIT TIME (almost 2 hours) and I was told this is just o par with course for this doctor. My prescription was also not available the next day and required extensive follow up.

The doctor is nice, but the appointment was very short. Consistently had to wait over two hours for the appointment only to be seen for less than 5 minutes. I've been there as late as 10pm at night. I've never seen anything like this.

They over book appointment slots then fail to let you know you have to wait over two hours to be seen. Refuse to go here anymore

On avg the wait time is 4-5 hours. The doctor is good. The only thing I dislike is seeing other patient going in earlier then others. Espically if they are Egyptian.

When I get to see Dr. Elshafei, it's great. Most of the time, however, I have to wait for more than an hour past my appointment time. This last time, I waited for three hours for the office to call in my prescription refill, after booking an appointment to do so (which was the previous office policy) and then found out after I arrived (45 minutes past my appointment time) that they now call all prescriptions in instead. I then waited another two hours for them to finally actually call it in and got my RX just as the pharmacy was closing. This was a totally unnecessary waste of time.

My visit at Asharf Elshafei's office was rather unpleasant. When I got there the waiting room was crowded and messy, with tissues and paper all over the floor. My appointment was for 5pm but I wasn't seen by the doctor until around 6:15pm. When I was with the Doctor he asked me a few questions, jotted my answers down, and perscribed me with something, sending me on my way. My visit with him was less than five minutes, which I don't feel was an adequate amount of time to evaluate someone on their first visit. I won't be seeing this doctor again.

Dr. Elshafei will not return calls to the pharmacist. I had to wait over a week before he or his office called back the pharmacist, meanwhile, I was languishing without anti-depressant medicine. He's lucky I didn't harm myself, although I truly don't believe he would care. Stay away from this doctor.

When I arrived they affirmed my appointment. Later the office staff, Eman said that I do not have an appointment......Eman later said that I have an appointment, but 4:30 PM at ZocDoc translates to 7:00 PM at Dr. Ashraf's!! After more than five hours of wait the Doctor saw me!!!! I could not understand why 4:30 at ZocDoc means 7 at Dr. Ash.

The Dr was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. The wait time was inconsiderately long considering the nature of the appointment. As such the appointment was not as effective as it could have been because my child was irritable and emotionally shut down due to the wait time. Had the time been more reasonable I believe I would have been a lot more satisfied.

The wait is ridiculous, and some of the people there are deplorable, that in itself will cause a major breakdown. But once u finally see the doctor it all doesn't seem to matter anymore, his office is a space u feel complete tranquility. You can feel the aura in the room.

The wait was long but this is because Dr, Ashraf is fantastic and genuinely cares about his patients ! After years of trying to find a Psychiatrist who was worth my trust and time I am glad to say I will continue visiting Dr Ashraf and his office. The therapist Laura is a sweetheart and all the staff in the office is very friendly and helpful as well. Dr. Ashraf had a genuine interest in my concerns and in me in general. Excellent doctor. will recommend to everyone.

I really love Dr. Elshafei, he is extremely kind and professional and he is very sensitive to his patients. He never judges or makes you feel rushed and I really enjoy my visits with him. I didn't want the amount of stars to be altered so I said he saw me right away, but just to clarify, the wait can be a bit long but he really is worth it, just bring a magazine or a book to keep you busy. The office is lovely and the front desk staff has always been kind and considerate. I highly recommend this doctor.

The wait time is excruciatingly long. I had a 7pm appointment but wasn't seen until 8:30pm. Doesn't seem like there is a whole lot of order at the front desk. The waiting room also doesn't have enough chairs for people to sit so there were a lot of people standing or waiting outside of the office in the hallway. Other than that, the doctor himself is very nice and knowledgeable. I just wish the copay wasn't so expensive.

Dr. Elshafei is definitely worth the waiting time. He is genuinely caring and listens to his patients instead of just prescribing the latest drugs on the market. Anytime I've needed doses adjusted he'd listen to my explanation and if he agreed, he changed it. Best psychiatrist I've ever met.

Overall it was a great first experience. As others have stated the wait can be pretty substantial so bring something for entertainment. Otherwise Dr. Elshafei made me feel comfortable and felt I was in a trusted environment, for me that is vital to continue treatment. Can't wait to see what's in store for treatment.

First time patient. My appt was at 2:30pm on a Saturday and I was not seen until 5ish pm and that is only because I complained every 30-45 minutes after the first hr of waiting. Not cool. While I understand the receptionists are not to blame, since they cannot control every nuance of scheduling. I do feel they could use more of a customer service oriented approach, given how long patients are waiting. Example: I asked for toilet paper (about 1.5 hrs in of wait time) because it was out of stock and the receptionists each looked at each other to fulfill the request. I said "Nevermind. Can you please just give me a paper towel (it was sitting on the counter) for now?" They obliged. I assumed they forgot about the TP that was out of stock because 35 min later another woman came to the front desk asking for TP. Not cool. Example: When I asked for updates, the response was always "Well, it's busy" or "I'll make you next." Then I'd continue to see patients go in/out ahead of me. Not cool either. Once you see the doctor, things are fine. From what I can tell, he is the kind of doctor who entrusts his patients with a good amount of responsibility and advocacy for their needs, which is great. He asks astute questions and is cautious about his prescriptions, which is also good, since the goal is maintained self care not rx dependency. I will definitely be returning to this doctor but my strong recommendation is to modify scheduling practices. I am in my 30's and waiting 3 hrs, albeit an obscene amount of time to wait, is doable. But I saw elderly patients who left after the first 1hr of waiting because it was too taxing for them.

During my last visit I waited over 3.5 hours for my 2:00pm appointment. When I went to the desk to check in at 3 hours, I was told that they couldn't find my name on one of the multiple sign in sheets the receptionist had on her desk and she asked me to sign in again. I waited another half hour before becoming so frustrated I walked out. This doctor is really great, one of the best psychiatrists I have found; but the wait time is RIDICULOUS.

You have to push yourself to the front of the line. Otherwise, they will forget you are there. The ladies at the desk were unprofessional, but it seems everyone there was used to it. I felt like I had fallen down the rabbit hole. Every man for himself. The doctor was pretty good though. He listened to me and asked good questions. But the waiting room is a surreal experience.

All the people complaining about wait time fail to realize that this guy is genuinely interested in you. He takes his sweet time to listen to anything you have to say. If you don't like waiting, you can go to one of those doctors that barely listen and just give you a prescription. Sure, you will wait, but this doctor is a gentleman and a star.
