It was my first visit with a psychiatrist and I didn't really know what to expect but the doctor made me feel comfortable and was very familiar with my issues. I would definitely recommend him.

I'm tempted to leave a bad review so people stop coming to him but... There's really nothing truly negative or off putting about the experience. A lot of people complain about the wait time but fail to realize that even with two offices, both are packed because he's a great doctor. I live 90-120 minutes away from his office depending on which and it doesn't bother me a bit. The commute. The wait. He's worth it. I've been here since 2014 and through countless panic attacks, they've never failed to help. Emergency appointment? You'll be last but you will get seen. Not many doctors care about their patients to this extent, & the receptionists are amazing as well.

Had to have my wife call in for my prescriptions because I'm sick. All of a sudden I'm informed this will no longer be allowed because they are requiring ORAL SWABS to prove you're taking your meds. There were no notices sent out to patients regarding this and when my wife called the office back, his office staffer, Fatima, yelled at her and said that I could not get a copy of this policy or a letter from my doctor about it before being subjected to it. My first view of the policy will be the CONSENT FORM!

Dr. Elshafei is an excellent doctor and quite knowledgable. He does work out of Metropolitan Hospital which is one of the worst hospitals in the city but he manages the addiction unit there. His inner office - where you will have your visit with him is gorgeous - but the waiting room and bathroom are despicable. We sat there waiting for two hours and when we got home we felt as though we both needed to shower because it was so bad. If Dr. Elshafei encourages Mind Body Wellness Medical Center to seriously upgrade their offices and clean up the waiting room this place would be amazing. As it is we would not recommend it.

I absolutely loved this doctor. I was in desperate need of meds and also needed a good talking to and he did both beautifully. I felt like he really cared about my treatment and about feeling better. The women at the desk were very kind and called in a delivery prescription for me and I got my meds at the office when I needed them most. I cannot recommend Dr. Ash enough! Thank you so much!

Excellent. Be prepared to wait for at least an hour. If you can't handle waiting that long, find a different doctor. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Dr. Elshafei is amazing. He has great bedside manner and is worth waiting for. However, his office staff are rude, unaccomodating, and just plain obnoxious. While I was in with the doctor, one of his staff members actually came in and asked him, while I was speaking, if he was almost done with me! This was after she made me wait an other hour after I explained another medical issue triggered by stress that can leave me physically debilitated was acting up and I asked if there was any way I could be accomodated! I always arrive 30-60 minutes before my appointment. My appointment was scheduled at 7. The doctor came in at 7:45. I didn't get seen until 9 and I had been there since 6! Only 4 people checked in before me but almost nine were seen before me, there's no logic to their check-in system!

Dr. Ash and his team are sweet and thoughtful people. I have been a patient for going on two years. The wait is insanely long and has never changed but the care and attention you receive makes it worth it. They are easygoing, flexible and straightforward.

He's very professional and will definitely help work to attain goals, not just write scripts. However, the downside is that the wait time is often two hours or more due to the heavy volume of patients booked, and sometimes the staff has mixed up what medication got sent to the pharmacy. Other than that, I highly recommend Dr. Ashraf.

Note that I find the guy to be charismatic thus my 5 for bedside manner (read: I am unbiased). Dr. Ashraf Elshafei and his staff are without a doubt the least professional I have ever dealt with - especially regarding medical care. When you are on their “bad side” (should a psychiatrist’s staff even be capable of this?) they are harder to reach than a Time Warner supervisor, the Pope and President Trump’s tax attorney multiplied by each other. There are now at least four SEPARATE occasions where someone has picked up the phone, to place me on hold, until the call is purposefully dropped, and then they don’t answer the next ten times I call back. They just didn’t feel like dealing with me… I went there under the presupposition I have ADD. Which I do. However, his test to determine this was a light series of Likert questions anyone would “know” the answers to… every single time I showed up I was spoken to for a grand total of 3 minutes… after an average wait time of roughly 90… the majority of the clientele seem like older people who have nothing better to do and - like me - he probably prescribes something they come to feel is an important part of their life and then he cannot be reached unless you nail the evening window when he and his staff feel like it. I am a rather poor artist - and had described to him in detail how every dollar counts - and would it be possible for him to make it so I don’t have to pay such a hefty copay monthly just to get something I have no problems with. After upping my dosage incrementally (nothing against this) he gave me 30 mg a day and left it up to me whether I would have them last a month and a half or take the full 30… it honestly felt like he just does whatever to get you through the door again so he can take his cut. This last time, his staff told me to call back at 6 pm. (He ALLEGEDLY works from 5-9ish). I did.. yet again, for them to pick up the phone. Put me on hold. Drop my call. Then never answer again. Whether it is his hiring decisions or what seems to potentially be nepotism that allows this to occur when someone is trying to refill a prescription their life depends on of a controlled substance. It is unacceptable - and a full on disgrace to the medical community. When I thought I would go counseling… I interned at a couple places with schizophrenic patients… I understand firsthand how important responsiveness is on both ends. I only wish I could rate the practice lower.

They admin staff has got to get the appointments under control. 30-60 minutes, no biggie. 2.5 hours? That's a flight to Miami!

There are very few doctors that are as good as him. Therefore, you will have a long wait time. Make sure to bring in a book, or a laptop for time to pass by. He listens to every patients worries and provides treatments accordingly. It's worth it
