I am a former competitive swimmer (Division 1 collegiate level) and current competitive powerlifter and strength coach. I earned my Doctorate in Medicine from Eastern Virginia Medical school. My personal best lifts include a 600 lb squat, a 405 lb bench press, and a 650 lb deadlift at 195 lbs.
I currently coach lifters both in-person and online, ranging from the sedentary and frail elderly to nationally competitive elite powerlifters. You may know me from my role as a member of the Starting Strength Seminar Staff and regular contributor to the StartingStrength.com website, the Barbell Medicine website and podcast, as well as Instagram.
