About Dr. Baah Asante
Doctor Asante believes in educating his patients through clear communication and community outreach. He earned his medical degree from People's Friendship University of Russia Faculty of Medicine and completed his residency in Pediatrics at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center. He also holds a Master's in Public Health from Harvard University and completed a residency in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. As a student at Harvard, he developed a strong commitment to sharing knowledge with those around him. His patients often refer to him as a "teacher" because of his dedication to raising awareness and promoting preventative screening.

I will never go back and will not recommend. I wanted my son To be seen he was not at the office I had to call the number and he got back to me and even though the doctor said he’d be there in 20 and I was willing to wait he insisted I reschedule. I guess he felt what my son had wasn’t as important

My child needed a physical prior to summer camp and our usual pediatrician wasn’t able to book an appointment for another 3 weeks. Luckily I checked Zocdoc and Dr Asante was available the same day for booking. Check in was quick and easy and staff was friendly. Dr Asante took the time to ask my child questions and for a 6 yr old he was very patient with her. Good bedside manners and knew his stuff. My only thing is the office looks a little out of date. They could get new scales and decor as it looked like I was at a school nurses office back in the 90s.

What stood out to me the most was how friendly the nurse got when she found out my insurance was accepted. Prior to that she was a little stand offish because I told her i didnt get a call from the office that it was confirmed thru Zocdoc. Once she got off the phone, her entirw demeanor changed and she was amazing with my child.
The office did not seem as kid friendly as I anticipated because I looked for a pediatrician and I believe hes a general doctor.

I scheduled a 3-7 day appt for my newborn baby, when I got there I was shocked. This place is in a apartment building in the bronx. When I went inside its literally a apartment turned into a doctors office. It smelled HORRIBLE. The waiting area is disgusting the seats are filthy. I sat down for about 5 minutes and left because I couldnt bring myself to let my baby be seen in such a nasty place.

He was not pushy when I showed apprehension about a course of action he suggested;but said it was a choice and I didn’t feel bad or scared into a course of action I didn’t really want. I chose this doctor because I was on a deadline and had to be seen within a week. the doctor was an hour away, that was ok because the walk from the train wasn’t far, I walked past the building because I was looking for a “ clinical” looking building , the doctor is situated in a “ residential” looking building. I found the “suite” after a patient saw me walking around the lobby looking a bit bewildered and pointed Dr. Asante door out. Once I was inside there was one patient ahead of my son whom this appointment was for. The nurse gave me all the new patient paperwork and took my insurance and set us up to see the doctor. The doctor was very professional courteous and was able to take care of all the lab work and tests that needed to be done in his office. A plus since I was already an hour out of my way and didn’t want to do any extra leg work. Dr. Asante was great with my teen and did exactly what I expected. I would definitely recommend him to anyone seeking pediatric care.

Waited 2 hours to have my 1 month old seen. The doctor didn’t even get there until an hour after my appointment time. Waiting room was packed and office was not very nice or clean looking. Doctor was nice but I wouldn’t recommend unfortunately.

The doctor is pretty good. He explained everything, he’s thorough and my son was very relaxed throughout his physical which doesn’t happen frequently since he’s on the spectrum and hates being touched. However the doctor’s staff( the girl at the front desk) is pretty rude and condescending. I personally would try to avoid her if you can. His intern that does the vitals etc, style is similar to the doctor’s where she kept telling my kid what she was doing and why which I appreciated .

I wouldn't reccomend him. I booked him because of the credentials that were outlined on his page and the reviews written abou thim. When I went into the office my exectations weren't matched with his performance. The office is very small and disorganized. The medical equipment was just stored in regualar plastic storage bins, there was a only a curtain separating the waiting area from one of the rooms. There was a huge mess of papers, books, bags, & boxes all throughout the office and center. When I saw him he checked me out and spoke two words throughout the entire time. He was not informative nor was he asking me any questions. I was asked to have some tests done and it's been 3 weeks and still haven't been called for my results. I've left numerous messages and no one has returned my call.
Don't book an appointment with him!!!
*Only good thing: the staff is nice*
