I’ve had skin issues for 25 years and have been through a lot of dermatologists. This was one of the better experiences. He took time to answer every one of my many questions thoughtfully and made sure I left with every single concern addressed. Both the doctor and the staff provided exceptional service. Dr. Bernard Gasch wants to welcome patients to his practice at Center for Dermatology and Laser Surgery. Board Certified in Dermatology in 2003, after completing a residency in both Dermatology as well as Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital, Dr. Gasch strives to properly identify and comprehensively treat each skin condition using an individualized modern patient-centered approach.
Having trained in multiple different parts of the country with various national experts in the Dermatological sub-specialties, Dr. Gasch is experienced in accurately diagnosing and properly treating many skin conditions in a variety of skin types and ethnicities. Having a background in both Internal Medicine as well as Dermatology, Dr. Gasch has extensive experience in identifying skin issues which may be related to a patient’s underlying medical condition. Dr. Gasch’s training has also emphasized the diagnosis and treatment of numerous pediatric skin conditions.
Dr. Gasch enjoys educating patients and proposing various dermatological treatment options, working with each patient to decide upon a customized approach. He often utilizes new technologies, including lasers and photodynamic therapy, as well as other medical, surgical, and cosmetic procedures to arrive at the desired result for his patients. Dr. Gasch also stays abreast of cutting-edge therapies by actively participating in various clinical research studies, as well as being a member of several national and local dermatological organizations.
Dr. Gasch’s personal interests include playing league tennis, hiking, traveling, SCUBA diving, and exercising with his dog, Heidi, a mischievous Vizsla.

Nice place, but very rushed exam as a new patient. Doc didn't listen to me. I explained that I had had this medical condition for 20 years but he proceeded to explain it to me as if I was unaware of it at all. Not sure if I will go back. I was hoping to replace a previous doctor that was just too far away to continue seeing.

Dr. Gasch was dismissive of my questions, would only tell me to talk to my primary doctor and read studies myself when I asked about the difference between two medications, laughed at me and spoke down to me when I said the cost of a medication was prohibitive to me, and he abruptly ended my appointment with no warning, laughing at me again when I had questions and saying he had other patients to talk to. He also made thinly veiled transphobic comments to me. I was surprised about all of this seeing as he has mostly positive reviews online. I ended up asking to file a grievance at the end of my appointment, after he’d bolted out the door, and spoke with someone over the phone an hour later. I’ve had many doctors throughout the life and he is by far one of the worst I’ve experienced.

My visit was great! The staff and Doctor Gasch were very polite and explained my best options for treatment. It did take a little while to be seen by the doctor after the initial check in with the nursing/assitant staff. But overall I got the care that I needed.

He and his staff did a nice job of efficiently figuring out if there was anything to worry about or not. He was thorough and personable. I like the fact he was able to comment on a lot of different things with respect to me skin, not just the things I had bigger concerns about.
The only thing I didn't like as much was they seemed to look for a chance to sell cosmetic creams for every occasion. I realize this is part of their business, but I'd rather they just ask up front if I'm interested in discussing products for appearance, or just focus on medical concerns. It would have been nice if my out of pocket expenses (not covered by insurance or medical spending) was more clearly communicated.

Dr. Gasch's practice provides a concierge level of care that most overlook. In addition, his bedside banner is outstanding. As a woman in my mid-40's, he addressed aging issues and preventative measures that put my mind at ease. We all know that we don't wan't to age prematurely, but we don't want to risk removing moles, etc., that should be cultured. I look forward to seeing Dr. Gasch annually for medical evaluation and quarterly for anti-aging treatments that will help me maintain my youthful appearance. Thanks, Dr. Gasch, for raising the bar for the level of care we should expect. You are succeeding!

What I really like about him is that he has a great sense of humor.
Sometimes when you go to a dermatologist, you feel so depressed afterwards. I mean, basically, you're paying them to tell you what's wrong with your skin (aka, looks).
However, Dr. Gasch keeps it light, compliments you on what you have going for yourself, and gives you a well-thought out plan of how to set up your skin regimen.
And, best of all, he's doesn't use your vulnerability to push all the procedures available today. IF you ask him, he'll say what they offer, but he doesn't indicate that you should get this or that. He just offers what you could consider based on the area you've asked about, and then he refers you for a cosmetic consultation with a staff member that he thinks you'll click with.
