Dr. Bernice Yan is a Board-certified Dermatologist specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at the University of California, San Diego, where she graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Yan earned her medical degree with honors in research at Weill Cornell Medicine and completed her internship year at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, a safety net hospital for the medically underserved and a key teaching hospital for Stanford University.
Following her internship, Dr. Yan completed her dermatology residency at Hofstra University/Northwell Health, the largest health system in New York, where she also served as the resident cosmetic clinic director. During this time, she led treatment sessions using a wide variety of injectables (botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, deoxycholic acid, platelet-rich plasma) as well as laser and energy-based devices to effectively address patients’ cosmetic concerns. While practicing in New York, she had the opportunity to care for patients from all backgrounds and gained expertise in diagnosing and treating skin conditions in patients of all skin tones.
Dr. Yan has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and abstracts, with her research presented at major national and international conferences. Her award-winning research has been published in top dermatology journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, and JAMA Dermatology.
Dr. Yan’s clinical interests encompass the full spectrum of dermatology, including inflammatory skin conditions, cosmetic dermatology, and skin cancers. She is highly skilled in performing surgical procedures, such as cyst and lipoma removals and skin cancer excisions. She takes great pleasure in providing comprehensive care to her patients and is always exploring new techniques and treatments to improve skin health and appearance.
