I had a great experience overall. Very friendly and helpful staff. My benefits coverage were explained along the way (i.e. retina scan is a higher copay, how much allowance I have for glasses frames, etc). And Beverly has a great bedside manner and explained in detail the process throughout my exam. Having drops and equipment near your eyeballs is a little unnerving and she did a great job at alleviating any anxiety around it.

Drs. Randy Kansky and Beverly Hochstadt-Kansky are natives of nearby Long Island. Dr. Randy Kansky did his undergraduate studies at The State University of New York at Albany, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Dr. Beverly Kansky attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
The doctors met in 1980 while studying optometry at The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. “The New England College of Optometry provided excellent clinical training in such areas as contact lens care, pediatric vision care and vision therapy for computer related eye strain.”
After graduating as Doctors of Optometry in 1984 they returned to Long Island, both to get married, and to start their careers working in private practices in Huntington, NY and Middle Village, NY respectively.
In 1986 Drs. Randy and Beverly came to Hoboken and revived Family Eye Care, a small optometry practice that had recently closed. By offering personal care and friendly, professional service, that modest practice rapidly grew. The office was moved in 1991 to its present location at 118 Washington St., and renamed Eyeshapes Hoboken. By continuing to offer superior care, state of the art equipment, a large optical boutique, and a friendly, knowledgeable staff, Eyeshapes Hoboken has become Hoboken’s premier optometric office.

Fantastic! I saw Dr. Kansky not Dr.Kansky (Mrs.) and he was great! The office staff were friendly and informative, I was seen within 5 minutes of my appointment time, and it was a really helpful, successful appointment. Dr. Kansky was great at educating me, explaining my options, and was very thorough. It had been a few years since my last appointment with a different provider, will definitely be staying up to date now and returning to this office.

Office called me to confirm my appointment. They also Confirmed my insurance. They were friendly over the phone and in person. The eye exam went well and the doctor described everything that would happen. I picked out a pair of glasses and the staff was very helpful. Awesome experience.

The office was very clean and professional, and everyone was incredibly courteous and helpful. The wait time was negligible, and I didn’t even have to fill out forms or paperwork as a first time patient. Dr Hochstadt-Kansky was warm and approachable and I felt immediately welcomed.

Dr. Kansky was amazing!! I have been to the eye doctor since I was 5 years old. This is the first time I have been to Dr. Kansky and I learned more from this one visit than I have my whole life! He was so kind and explained everything. I am so glad I went to Eyeshapes and his staff is super nice and helpful as well. I will go there for the rest of my visits even if I move out of town. I love that place!!

I ended up seeing Mr. Kansky however he was very nice and explained everything to me. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place! I just wish they had more options for frames but overall was a great experience and i will be back soon.
