Bonnie Nece, MSN, FNP-BC, completed her nursing degree in 1993 and worked as a women’s health nurse, providing leadership for four women’s health units, for 10 years. She then completed her graduate studies at the University of South Alabama, and is Board Certified as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. She is also a Certified Bariatric Nurse and an active member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Bonnie's clinical practice and extensive leadership experience has focused primarily on improving care for patients wanting to lose weight and improve their health. Her professional career has provided many opportunities to make a difference for bariatric patients. She provided Bariatric program leadership, as well as patient follow up care, for a large program in Pensacola, Fla. for several years.
Prior to joining Blue Sky MD, Bonnie provided program development leadership for Mission Health, Inc. in Asheville NC. During her 9 years there she was instrumental with the development of Mission's Weight Management program.
Bonnie has two grown children and two dearly loved grandchildren. She enjoys gardening, music events, hiking, travel and all the great activities Asheville has to offer.
