Dr. Byergo is amazing. He always talks through any concerns that he has about my eye health. Always super professional and personable. Makes super his patients are comfortable. The staff in the office are always super nice.

The nurses have no empathy or patience — you’re brought from room to room coldly, your eyelids held open tightly, bright lasers repeatedly blasted into your eyes, and there’s no understanding or caring when any of it is unpleasant or difficult. There’s one machine where you have to hold still, eyes open wide, within the slightest hair of distance from a target. They act like you should be a pro at this right away, and send blinding light after blinding light into your eye if you blink. It’s some Clockwork Orange stuff. They seem to never have heard of someone who doesn’t want their eyes pressed on and grabbed without any kind of accommodation or adjustment to their preferences. I felt battered and tossed around in the office.
A couple of months later I came back to find out that I actually owed a ton of money extra , even though I tried asking several times if my co-pay would be all I had to worry about with my particular insurance. If they were unsure at the time, I wouldn’t have proceeded with what ended up feeling like an invasive, inconclusive set of procedures.

Office staff and doctor were great, but it took 30 mins just to move from the waiting room to the first stop in my eye appt-preliminary eye test with a doc’s assistant. What’s the point of making an appt if I sit there for 30 mins? And please don’t tell me to get to my appt 10 mins early for New Patient paperwork and then make me sit for 30 mins. I had all my paperwork ready to go, and my insurance was called in hours before my appt. I had my ducks in a row, but my wait time suggested the office didn’t.
To make matters worse, when I finally got passed the wait room I had to wait for an exam room to open.
All told I spent an hour and a half at this office. That’s way too long when I did my part as a conscientious patient-did my paperwork ahead of time, arrived early, called in my insurance plan, etc. I don’t know if I’ll be coming back.
