About Dr. Steven Henderson
Dr. Steven Henderson received his Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education- Biology with honors from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He then earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry. During his time in optometry school Dr. Henderson worked as a teacher’s aide in the Neuroanatomy, Clinical Optometry, and Ocular Disease courses.
He completed his disease-based clinical rotation at Saint Louis University Eye Center. He completed other clinical rotations at Envision Eye Specialists and Tomasino-Goerss Vision Source. Throughout his schooling and clinical rotations he received training in the diagnosis and management of diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts. Dr. Henderson has worked with Midwest Eye Associates throughout his time in optometry school and has received mentorship and training from Dr. Huff. Dr. Henderson is working with Dr. Huff to assist in his transition to spending more time with family. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Association, and Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
Dr. Henderson is from Washington, Missouri and now resides in the Saint Louis area with his wife, Megan, and their daughter, Audrey. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, brewing beer, and spending time outdoors.
