I have been a patient of Dr Meehan for many years and have always appreciated his approach and treatment. He is a great listener and takes time to understand your ailments. He also knows your medical history and your current situation to deliver the best treatment
It’s like his wait times get longer each time I go. 1+ hour waits are a bit ridiculous.
This is the first time in my adult life I feel like a doctor has truly listened to my concerns and what’s been happening in my health. Dr. Meehan asked me questions to help try and figure out what was going on and was active in trying to find solutions and answers. I feel confident that he will be able to get to the bottom of things that have been going on with me that other doctors just brushed off or rushed me out for. I think I’ve finally found a PCP I want to stick with.
Appt was for bloodwork to determine Bp rx. The care by the tech drawing blood was mediocre at best. I never had needle marks this bad in my life and it was painful. The physician consultation was very thorough and he even had his asst contact another tx doctor to expedite service.
Love going to Dr. Meehan’s office. Entire staff is friendly and courteous. They do all tests in house so no need to go to other location for blood samples etc. Highly recommend.
They said they would call in my prescription, so I showed up at my pharmacy 5 hours later after work and they hadn’t receive anything. I called the doctors office from the pharmacy. They said they’d call the pharmacy. I waited for an hour and the pharmacy never received a call. Now I have no prescription and I’m riding the train home from work at 8:30pm. Pretty lame.
I have been a patient of Dr Meehan’s on and off for 4-5 years. Dr Meehan is an amazing doctor who is very analytical and thorough. Unfortunately I must stop going to him as the wait times to see him are excessive and my experience with his support staff is poor. My wait times are on average anywhere from 30-75 mins with an appt (fyi - the wait includes waiting once in the examination room). Meehan knows this is an issue as he once actually apologized as he was coming into to the exam room a full hours after his staff did the rote part of my annual physical. The biggest issue however is his office staff. It is difficult to get a call through assuming you get a call through during the few hours the switchboard is open (not during the 2 hours at Lunch or 5 mins past 9am or 15mins before the end of office hours that day), difficult to get a call back from the dr when you need to speak with him (you need to try a few times), difficult to get anyone to call you back even when they’ve left you a voicemail, and difficult to get your test results (took a month and several phone calls to get the results of my last physical). Not too surprising that this type of experience leaves the patient feeling like he is not a priority - especially when you witness all of coffeeclatching going on in the front of the office. The final straw was when the office staff made me wait over an hour for my appt only to admit (when I went to the front desk to ask when I would be seen) after reassuring all patients that the wait would not be long that the doctor had not even arrived for the day and all appts would be late. I called to complain to the doctor but not surprisingly my message was not returned presumably because it was not relayed to the doctor by the gatekeeper staff. If I had no work commitments and all day to wait, I’d love to continue having Dr Meehan as my GP, but I cannot block out hours of my day to wait around to be seen or deal with inefficient staff.
Dr. Meehan is thorough, attentive, relatable, and more than worth the long wait times. He also saved my life, so I’m pretty enthusiastic about this person.
I love Dr Meehan! The wait time is brutal, but once you are talking w him you feel as if you have his full, undivided attention. He is thoughtful, patient, and asks Qs that other doctors have never asked me - really 360/holistic Qs that have made me reevaluate different areas of my health/lifestyle. He is also connected to great docs in the city—he referred me to my ENT and neurologist who I both adore. If you can allot yourself a good 1.5-2hrs for an appt (you will wait) then see him.
Dr. Meehan has always been very professional and always has time to answer any of the countless questions I have about my health.
Dr. Meehan is a practice, caring guy who has helped me on a journey to better health. The office staff is friendly. They have convenient hours for work people!
The wait time has gotten worse and worse at the practice. I will switch doctors.
All of the staff are so friendly – very pleasant experience with them. Just be sure to take notes about questions / referrals because they won't follow up with you about these!
Great guy, super nice office staff. I maybe waited 5-10 minutes but I went in first thing. Everyone in the office was attentive and super nice and helpful.
Proactive. Good diagnostics.
Dr. Meehan is an awesome physician - he takes the time to listen to you, asks good questions and you feel well-cared for. The downside of his practice is the gruffness of his office staff and the excruciating wait times. I had to wait two hours to see him; my husband was in the office for 3 hours. One upside is that they finally have an online portal so you can call to get medical results and don't have to go to the office.
I like Dr Meehan he’s a straight shooter and a good listener.
everyone was courteous and helpful. apparently there was an emergency in the morning which resulted in long wait time - I arrived 15 minutes early and waited over an hour to be seen, and was in the room for another 45 minutes to be seen by 3 people with a lot of wait time in between again. I like the doctor and everyone at the office, but did not like to have to wait that long.
Good doctor, wish the wait times weren't so long. Happens every time.
He listens and takes his time with you. Very friendly, helpful, and welcoming
He's been my primary care physician for 8 years. Highly recommended.
Doc was nice. Staff was incompetent, doesnt return calls and awful. Televisit is stupid. Why pay for a dr visit if you ask me to download a stupid app that constantly disconnects from the dr to see me virtually.
Both Dr. Meehan and his staff were efficient, helpful, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. As a first time patient it was nice to feel welcomed and well taken care of.
I arrived early to fill out paperwork, but still had to wait 40min after my appointment time. The doctor and office staff were fantastic, though.
Everyone was really nice but the wait time was horrible. I was there for over two hours for something that took about 15 minutes. I did like the doctor and his staff and think they were very thorough.
Only issue - receptionist was short staffed so you could not get through over phone.
I've seen doctor Meehan three time and He is consistently very late. I tried to obtain my lab tests 4 times from an incompetent reception staff:
He was lovely. Took the time to ask the right questions. Was thorough and professional. I'll be going to him from now on for sure
Great doctor, but the most incompetent office staff I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. My prescription was never sent to my pharmacy. I went back to the doctor's office to check, and they told me they had no record of the prescription and would call me. They never called, and have been unavailable since, with the phone number being routed to answering service. I'll now have to book an appointment with another doctor to get my antibiotics prescription. On another occasion, they booked an appointment for me at 7:30 AM. I turned up, and no one was there. When I came in later, no apology.
everything perfect besides the waiting time - very friendly and knowledgeable doc
I waited 50 minutes to be seen. I initially went there for annual physical, but after sitting in the room in the gown for 30 minutes I just couldn't wait any longer. Have never been to any PC that has a long wait like this.
It's hard to find a good doctor in NYC that actually listens to you. Was very glad I found Dr. Meehan
Dr. Meehan was extremely friendly and very efficient. I will definitely be returning to him in the future.
First physical with Dr. Meehan. Found the idea of it daunting, but the staff and doctor to be incredibly warm and friendly. So glad I've started going to him!
Great visit. Came in feeling sick, staff was super friendly from front desk to the PA. Dr. Meehan was very kind and thorough. Will be back.
I had a great visit with Dr. Meehan. He had a great personality. He seemed a bit rushed at one point however.
If you, too, are a young adult who has no idea what in the world you are doing, this is a great place to start. The front desk staff was impossibly warm and friendly, and Dr. Meehan put me at ease. Highly, highly reccomend.
Dr Meehan was very attentive and patient in listening to my concerns. He worked collaboratively to prescribed the right treatment regimen for my needs.
I had a hellish time transferring meds, and finding a new PCP and psychiatrist in NYC after moving here. Dr. Meehan and his staff were able to clearly and concisely assist me in sorting it out. Had a great exp. I was called in before even finishing the short forms I was signing.
