What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
My passion is driven by caring for others, especially the underserved populations. I also enjoy educating patients and other providers about respiratory and sleep medicine.
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
The role as primary care provider is to address and treat the patient(s) beyond the symptoms. If the provider can address the issue(s) that caused the symptoms whether mental/behavioral or physical, the outcome is usually more favorable, especially pertaining to chronic health conditions. Studies have shown that individuals with chronic conditions, including pain tend to suffer from a behavioral/mental health condition and vice versa.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy engaging in community outreach, spending time with my family, cooking, music, and traveling.
