Dr. Catherine Browne is an experienced Board Certified Ob/Gyn with the American Board of Osteopathic Obstetricians & Gynecologists. Dr. Browne went into women's medicine because as a woman, she felt connected to female patients and desired to provide comprehensive and up-to-date medical care. She majored in chemistry at University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA, where she taught workshops on alcohol awareness and date rape awareness.
After college, Dr. Browne worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM, and later at an allergy and asthma research center. Dr. Browne then went to medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, IL. After graduating, she completed her internship and residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. In total, she served 7 years in the United States Army providing medical care to active duty women and military wives.
Following her service in the U.S. Army, Dr. Browne devoted 2 years to serving the indigent and uninsured in Montgomery, Texas. She moved to Austin, TX Fall of 2011, with her husband and their two young children, ages three and seven. Her gentle and reassuring manner is a great fit with the staff of Capital Ob/Gyn Associates of Texas. Dr. Browne places an emphasis on compassionate communication with her patients, ensuring that each woman feels that her needs are being heard. She continues in her passion to benefit the community through serving as Medical Director at Austin LifeCare and Secretary/Treasurer for the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA).

The wait was extremely long and the front office staff was extremely rude. Completely unprofessional administrative staff upon checking out. It took at least an hour after my appointment time before they called my name, and I sat with a medical gown for another 40 minutes after that inside a room waiting for the doctor. She saw me for all of 20 minutes, tops. The nurse was okay and the doctor was okay. But upon checking out the lady at the desk was unacceptably rude. It doesn't matter if they were busy or having a bad day, they should be at the least polite back to their patients. I felt completely disrespected, not just because they were way late for the appointment, but because of the way they ignored me and then talked rudely. Do not recommend this practice.

I was nervous because it had been a couple years since I had been to an obgyn. My fears were short lived though bc Dr. Browne was amazing. She had a great bed side manner and showed great compassion. It didn't stop with her though from the front desk, to the nurse, and all the other staff everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Dr. Browne's office was quick and efficient. Dr. Browne herself has such a calming spirit. She seemed decisive and supportive. I was just seeing her as a gynecologist but if I were pregnant I would definitely want her to be my OB! Imagining a very zen delivery.

Dr. Browne and the staffs were very friendly and helpful. I felt very comfortable with them even it was my 1st visit.
Dr. Browne even made the phone call for trying to helpe me make an appointment for my 1st trimester ultrasound herself! Didn't expect a doctor would do that for the patient at all! I was really touched. Will definitely recommend her to everyone.

I waited two hours to be seen because she was "on call". When I was finally seen it was a short and quick visit. The staff take forever to respond back to messages through phone and portal, sometimes don't even respond answering my question. I had to go back for the second time and it was okay, still a short visit and haven't felt a connection between Dr and patient. The check out lady is rude and acts like she can't call insurances to verify stuff for patients, actually have been told it's out of consideration when she does call. I actually work in Health Care and we always satisfy patients needs which I don't feel that's their priority here. Dr. Browne seems nice but don't get a vibe from her. Overall wouldn't recommend this place.

Dr. Browne takes her time with you. That means your appointment may take a while, and you may wait a while. But she is very thorough. I am an obese person with a history of anorexia and other ED, and she was very kind and respectful of myself and my boundaries w/r/t diet talk. Very kind and gentle.

She was very thorough with asking questions that were pertinent to the exam. She did great with giving expected information on scheduling the mammogram.
Only thing I was puzzled about was why there was not a sign in sheet when I got there. The girls in the front were both on the phone and ignored me when I was standing at the window. I got there about 10 minutes early for my appointment. Another couple came in for their appointment after me for an appointment time that was before mine. They were late for their appointment and they were asked to go in before me. Then about 5 minutes later another couple came in that was over 30 minutes late. The office assistant came out and asked for both of us to come back to be put into a room at the same time. I did not appreciate having to wait behind others that were late for their appointment when I made sure I got there early for mine. I would think that a sign in sheet is how all other doctor offices handle their patients.

Catherine was great, although I was a bit frustrated with the wait time. My appointment was at 10:15 and I wasn't brought into the room until ~10:40 and didn't see Dr. Browne until right before 11, therefore making me late for my next appointment that day.

She was a wonderful doctor. I went in with lots of questions about birth control options, and she took more than a fair amount of time to answer every question I had. My only disappointment is that my 8:30 appointment didn't actually take place until about 9:15. I still give her a very highly recommendation!

This was my first time to Dr. Browne and I was so happy with my visit. She had a friendly manner and was knowledgeable but, more importantly, she listened carefully to my concerns and talked through my questions. I will be going back to her for my next appointment.

Best gyno visit of my life. Dr. Browne is extremely easy to talk to and extremely gentle! (My first pelvic exam and pap smear 100% pain free) I actually sent my best friend a text after saying "best gyno visit ever!" All of the staff is very nice. Wait time after my appointment time was minimal.
