Dr. Cesar R. Abreu graduated with a Bachelor’s in Science from Ursinus College in 1974. He then pursued an education in medicine from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, located in Guadalajara, Mexico. After graduating from the Autonoma, Dr. Abreu did an internship at Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Abreu completed his residency in general surgery in 1983 at Episcopal Hospital, also in Philadelphia. He then went on to complete his residency in urology from 1983-1986 at the University of Maryland, located in Baltimore, Maryland, where during his last year, Dr. Abreu served as Chief Resident in the Urological Residency Program. On November 1st, 1986, Dr. Abreu moved himself and his family to Clearwater, Florida and opened the doors to Bayside Urology for the first time.
Bayside Urology was formed by the current President and Vice President, Dr. Abreu and his wife, Eloisa. Since 1986, Dr. Abreu and Bayside Urology have been committed to providing the best urological care in the greater Tampa Bay area, serving patients in Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pasco Counties. Dr. Abreu has earned tremendous respect from his staff, peers, and patients over the years. Bayside Urology’s pursuit of excellence in well over twenty years is constantly reflected in the professionalism and high standards held by the office team. Through the years in the Clearwater area, Dr. Abreu has been elected in various hospitals to serve as Chief of Surgery, Chief of Staff, and Medical Executive of the Medical Staff. Dr. Abreu’s expertise and personal accomplishments were recognized on June 18th, 2005, when he was granted a Fellowship to the International College of Surgeons.
