Dr DuShey was fantastic. He took time to explain everything to me-- how the knee joint works, what might be my problem, what my tests showed, and even how I would be billed by insurance. He really seemed to care and it was so refreshing after seeing doctors who just go through the motions and only spend a few minutes with you. He was thoughtful and knowledgeable, highly recommended.

Craig DuShey, M.D., is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedics at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He specializes in surgical and non-surgical treatments of the hip and knee. Dr. DuShey completed his orthopedic residency in the Yale University Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. He then completed additional specialty training at the Hospital for Special Surgery, focusing on the latest and most advanced surgical treatments for problems of the hip and knee. His areas of specialized training for the hip include minimal incision hip replacement, hip arthroscopy, hip fracture repair, hip resurfacing, and revision of failed hip replacements. His areas of specialized training for the knee include, total knee replacement, partial knee replacement, knee arthroscopy, and revision of failed knee replacements.
Dr. DuShey is an avid proponent of patient education and works with each patient to tailor a treatment plan that addresses the specific needs and expectations of each individual. He has been engaged in scientific research for the past 14 years, participating in projects at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Yale University, and Mount Sinai Hospital.

I saw Dr. DuShey about a shoulder strain that's taking a while to heal. He took me through a range of motions, had me get an X-ray, then explained to me his diagnosis and the rationale behind it.
One thing that I particularly appreciated was his attitude of receptiveness and transparency - he laid out three potential avenues of treatment, told me which one he recommended and why, but said that if anything felt abnormal, we could go ahead and evaluate the other options. It really made me feel like I had a say in my own recovery.

The doctor was great! He had my mom's foot x-rayed did a examination of her foot explained to us exactly what needs to be done and provided her with a removable boot/cast. We have a follow up appointment in the beginning of february.
