About Teodora Karaivanova
Teodora Karaivanova is a licensed acupuncturist (LAc.) and nationally certified herbalist and certified in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
She attained her Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York and is currently enrolled in the Doctorate Program.
Teodora completed post-graduate courses in pediatric acupuncture and Shonishin (Japanese technique). She interned for four years at a busy NY acupuncture practice focusing on women’s health and pain management. She was a Teaching Assistant at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She volunteers in Central America treating underserved populations (Integrative Health Project, IHP volunteer organization).

I scheduled a 5:30 PM appointment through Zocdoc and arrived at the doctor’s office at 5:15 PM, only to be told it had been canceled. The staff explained that the time I selected wasn’t actually available, as their internal schedule doesn’t align with Zocdoc’s. They said this has been an ongoing issue for years, causing repeated confusion for patients.
They claimed they tried calling me but said the number was disconnected. When I asked the receptionist, Gennessys, to confirm the number, she dialed it—it worked. She couldn’t explain why it hadn’t gone through earlier. She also said she emailed me, which I later found in my junk folder.
When I asked her to cancel the appointment on Zocdoc, she said their office isn’t authorized to do so. I had to cancel it myself, which I did, and I also reported the issue to Zocdoc.

Absolutely amazing experience. Teodora is so Knowledgeable & understanding. I instantly felt better after treatment. Staff was so helpful & friendly. Would definetly recommend.
