Physical Therapist
36 W 44th St, New York, NY
Ben received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Columbia University. Prior to earning his doctorate, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the Nutrition and Exercise Performance Lab, assisting with muscle and protein metabolism research. His interest in maximizing health and longevity, as well as optimizing human performance through exercise, ultimately led him to the profession of physical therapy. While attending Columbia University's Physical Therapy Doctorate program, he experienced firsthand the significant impact effective physical therapy can have, using his newfound knowledge to rehab himself back to weightlifting pain-free after sustaining a lower back injury. Through various clinical affiliations, Ben has worked with both older and younger patients with varying orthopedic injuries to help them return to their favorite activities. His passion for health and wellness, combined with his previous injury that kept him from participating in one of his favorite activities, allows him to connect with his patients empathetically while developing comprehensive and individualized treatment plans. Ben stays current with the latest evidence in treatment techniques and approaches by reading peer-reviewed journals and taking clinical education courses related to orthopedics. In his free time, Ben enjoys playing guitar, swimming at the beach, golfing, weightlifting, hiking, gardening, and playing with his dog, Luna.
