Dr. Dalia S. Nagel graduated from Columbia University, summa cum laude, and received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. After completing her training in ophthalmology at The Mount Sinai Hospital, New York City, Dr. Nagel was appointed Clinical Instructor, where she is active in teaching residents and students. Dr. Nagel has authored numerous scientific publications and has presented her work at national meetings. As a recipient of the Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship, Dr. Nagel's publication in glaucoma won the prestigious Lewis Rudin Glaucoma Award presented by the New York Academy of Medicine. Dr. Nagel is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with special interests in cataract and refractive surgery, glaucoma, medical retina , uveitis and pediatric ophthalmology.

Dr. Dalia Nigel performed laser iridotomy on both of my eyes and I have no complications. I am a very sensitive patient with zero to none pain tolerance, and she made me very comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Dalia Nagel.
Receptionist is exceptionally professional. Reception area itself is large, bright, well kept and has small optics shop. Machines are modern, fast and in general all looks well taken care off clean. . Technician Isabella (?) was pleasant on the beginning. Moving at fast pace with procedures. But something happened in a moment when I told her that I cannot have my eyes diluted, because I had to run to work same hour and needed sharp vision, also the after procedure 2 hours make me unpleasantly dizzy. She then kept asking if I ever wore glasses and if I would want to wear glasses. That was surprising because I never had any troubles with my sight. . She offered me to look through a lens that felt unpleasant and made the text smaller and strained my eyes. I told her how it felt. She made notes. Then, before that she put yellow drops in my eyes, I asked, if it will feel like glue substance, she said it will just numb the eye so she could see, but it felt way worse. My eyes started burning and I was in a great discomfort. I she told me "not to rub it" so I took paper tissue and put a bit of cool water and placed on my eyes that felt a relief. My eyes got red, that I mentioned and gee reply was "I told you not to rub it". Dr.Nagle came and she quickly rinsed my eyes with solution that felt immediately better. Then she explained that they tried lens because of further sight that I have and probably I will start using glasses in the future. Dr.Nagel was pleasant, attentive, professional to the core and I understand why she has all best references. Highly recommend.

Overall, a good experience, but the receptionist need to inform that Refraction is not covered by the presented insurance before conducting the exam. It was really deceptive to know that a service is not covered and not informing the patient, then spring a surprise charge, when I could get that service elsewhere in network with a small copayment. Thumbs down to the receptionist!

Dr. Nagel was easy to speak with about my concerns. She gave me a thorough examination and answered all of my questions. Elias, one of the technicians who did my initial eye exam was also very lovely. He was professional and knowledgeable in answering my questions and put my concerns at ease. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience and would definitely recommend the practice to others.

I was disappointed with the overall experience at the office. I was seen by an optometry technician for 90% of the exam which 1) I wasn’t told who she was or her credentials or even her name 2) no one asked me if that was ok to have my exam done mostly by the tech vs. the doctor. I honestly specifically booked the appointment with this doctor and then barely saw her. I also felt like I was on a conveyor belt. Go to this area, go back to waiting room, go back to area, then go to this exam room, then go back to first area, then go to back to exam room, then go to another exam room for the doctor. Overall, poor set up and experience.

Liked Dr Nagel more than any other opthalmologist ive found in NYC. I felt like she listened to my eye history and helped me find a solution tjat would work for me. The office was out of a lot of supplies and some of the technicians were complaining that they couldnt find a number of different items for people's appts. Not sure if this was a one off issue or a consistent thing.
