About Dr. Lawrence Pape
Dr. Lawrence Pape has over forty years of extensive and diverse experience in diagnosing and treating all diseases of the eye and surrounding tissues. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. Dr. Pape completed his internship at Lenox Hill Hospital, followed by residency training in Ophthalmology and subspecialty fellowship training in ophthalmic microsurgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Columbia University Medical Center.
Dr. Pape is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a senior member in good standing of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He takes great pride in personally performing all patient examinations in a meticulous and detailed fashion, avoiding assembly-line medicine. Dr. Pape dedicates however much time is necessary with each patient to thoroughly explain all examination findings and treatment options.
His office is equipped with state-of-the-art, technologically advanced instrumentation essential for diagnosing and treating a wide spectrum of ocular conditions. This includes diagnostic devices such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), corneal topography, fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, and computerized visual field testing. Additionally, Dr. Pape's office features specialized ophthalmic lasers vital for treating glaucoma, secondary membranes, and retinal conditions.
