A warm, wonderful, empathetic Life Coach-And she is always upbeat and I always benefited from our talks---I am better now! Dr. Anderson is my only choice if I have troubles in the future and need to talk! I happily stumbled on her while looking for a psychologist that accepts medicare-she does (rare to find a Doctor in this field that will accept Medicare) Kim E

Dr. Anderson isolates the details and the important issues of patient input. She logs important points along the way which gives me confidence that she will follow up with techniques that might resolve issues that the patient is dealing with.

More about Dr. Dana L. Anderson, PhD

Are you considering therapy but have concerns about finding the "right" therapist or type of treatment? These are important considerations and the decision to seek therapy is a big step. The patient-therapist relationship is a critical component of therapy and it is important to choose as therapist that is a "good fit" for you. With this in mind, let me tell you about myself and my approach to therapy. Because every individual is unique and has his/her own story and goals, therapy must be custom tailored to the individual. I have training & experience in multiple therapeutic approaches including: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic psychotherapy and will create a personalized treatment plan with you. A strong emphasis during my graduate training was on multiculturalism and multicultural competence, thus making me more aware and increasing my understanding of the key roles that a client’s culture, identity, ethnicity, race, gender, and other aspects of diversity play in the counseling process. Through both training and my practice, I have learned culturally-competent counseling practices and the current theoretical approaches necessary to engage a diverse clientele. I aim to identify specific goals while being sensitive to ethnic/cultural/religious beliefs/values and sexual identity. Treatment will be collaborative - you will be treated with professionalism and respect.

I've been surprised each time I've gone in since she comes and gets me almost right at my appointment time, like she isn't slammed with appointments and makes enough time for each patient to be seen in a timely fashion. She's understanding and is helping me get on the right track finally, after suffering without any diagnosis or therapy for many years of my life. I want to continue seeing her, even though she isn't in my insurance network. To me, you can't put a price on mental health.
Nice so far. I need more information.
My visit went well. The office staff were very welcoming. The waiting area was quite nice with a variety of seating options. Dr. Anderson was a great listener. Her large collection of certificates and manner showed her thorough experience. She seemed genuinely interested in helping me find the right therapist for me, even if it wasn't her!
Very nice
