After my initial consultation, it was extremely difficult to reach anyone about a follow-up appointment. I finally managed one after a lot of hassle, rescheduling, and being ignored. In this appointment, I switched prescriptions and was told I should have the new prescription within 3-4 days. To this day, I have not received it -- despite following up several times in an attempt to track it down. Partially due to the wait, I decided to try the first medication I was prescribed, which I initially had cold feet about. Perhaps I should have waited, but I didn't have the guidance of a psychiatrist that I should have had. I tried one last time to let them know I started the medication and would like guidance -- and that if they couldn't provide it for whatever reason, to let me know. They read the email (I have Streak email tracking) but never responded. So here I am, two weeks into medication with no guidance or means of getting a refill. This is dangerous neglect.

Doctor Smith, is one of the best providers that a person in NY State will. EVER be able to find! He is a great listener, he is outgoing, he isn't afraid to let you (the patient) know how he feels about any given situations! It is difficult to find any negative qualities, other than he is a little under staffed if you ask me, but he does everything in his power to let us patients know that he puts us EVEN BEFORE HIMSELF! He take the time to help you navigate through the pitfalls of your thoughts and emotions. Finding a psychiatrist that put a sense of humor and a smile on your face is refreshing. Darryl is is an amazing provider. he was take me into his care, to better understand my condition so that my medication regimen was personally tailored to work for me!! I've not found this in twenty years of psychiatry treatment .. A doctor that was caring and compassionate enough to analyze my situation. Dr Smith again is an amazing physician. he is compassionate he is a great listener. he is very empathetic to my personal needs and takes every individual case very seriously and takes the time necessary to evaluate each situation between each client and manage a very large case load the type of precision that I would expect from a man of his caliber. guys all you need to know here the primary thing is that if you're coming to Darryl you're coming because you want to find a psychiatrist who genuinely cares someone who's dedicated and easy to talk to someone that you know you can trust and sometimes you're going to have to work out and work through some issues in order to reach that point but once you do I would highly recommend developing a relationship with dr. I HIGHLY recommend no one but Dt. DARRYL SMITH TO anyone of ANY AGE! SO dedicated to his work that I have NOT encountered a Harvard Top-Tier GRAD who has been so open unreceptive while maintaining my stability and his concern for my overall well-being and progress in life. Plus he can treat child/teens/adults! He even is expericied in addiction treatment and that is invaluable to me.
