Dr. Garza has been my physician for 25 years. He and his staff are wonderful. If you need labwork, he simply sends you to the first floor to have it taken care of. Need an ultrasound or uro-dynamic study? Those can be done in his office - no need to travel to the hospital.

I've read a lot of reviews on here from patients who did not appreciate his bedside manner- which seems to be the only complaint I am reading about. I have been seeing Dr. Garza for over a year now and he has helped me through a devastating miscarriage and my current pregnancy (I am 37 weeks and scheduled to have a C-Section in 2 weeks). I can say that my first appointment I was really nervous as it was my first pregnancy and I was a little off put by his turn and burn patient approach, but he and his staff did answer all of my questions. Any doubt I had that first appointment was quickly washed away as he always made an effort to know me and my husband by name, the gender of our baby and did everything he could to make me feel at ease. Both of my pregnancies were unexpected and when my progesterone levels turned out to be low and we realized I was loosing my first baby, he gave me so much faith that everything would be okay in the long run. He is direct, quick to the point and highly knowledgeable on not just his specialties but what he expects out of his patients. While he may come off as off putting in your initial visit, this is a physician who generally cares about the life, safety and health of unborn babies and mothers. I never felt judged for any of the multitude of concerns I called his office about and several times he would squeeze me in just so I could hear the babies heartbeat in my present pregnancy b/c I was convinced something was wrong after how my last pregnancy ended.
If you are looking for someone that supports you and your partner/family, is straight forward, gives you all of the facts in black and white, and doesn't sugar coat his expectations of you during your pregnancy, then he is perfect.

Dr. David E. Garza is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Bexar County Medical Society. He was born in San Antonio, Texas and received his bachelor's degree with high honors from St. Mary's University. He attended medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and then went on to complete residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He then completed a fellowship training program in Reproductive Endocrinology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. After completing this fellowship program Dr. Garza returned to the San Antonio area and established his solo private practice in 1989.
Dr. Garza's practice takes pride in providing the best specialized women's health care in the San Antonio area. He is fluent in English and Spanish and is also a right to life physician. With compassion and experience Dr. Garza's well established practice has provided patients with trusted expertise and a personal experience for over 30 years. From Gynecology, Obstetrics, 3D sonography, endometrial ablation, infertility, Reproductive Endocrinology, to in-office procedures, robotic infertility enhancing procedures, and we offer treatment for stress urinary incontinence, urodynamic testing, menopause and osteoporoosis related issues. Dr. Garza is a master trained Da Vinci gynecologic robotic surgeon who has successfully performed over 250 gynecologic robotic procedures and proctors novice robotic surgeons throughout Texas. Horrible uncaring over reacting physician. I will never go back there! Made me feel extremely uncomfortable with the way he talked to me. I am not one to complain either, but a Gyn should make a woman feel comfortable and talk to them in a caring manner without freaking them out. Just was not happy with him.

I made my appointment to be 1st available in the morning, and still wasn't taken back until 35 minutes later (no one was at the office at 8:30). Did have to wait to see the actual doctor, who was checking on a patient in labor & that is totally understandable. Visit was "ok", wasn't rude like some of these other reviews said, but it seemed very "wam, bam, thank you ma'am". Will be going back for my 8 week prenatal exam next week.

I came home in tears, I feel that my situation is very difficult and I respect that he's trying to figure out what the problem is so he can fix it, however speaking with him makes me feel like I'm a peasant, just another face, no one important. I'm sure he wouldn't even remember my name if you'd ask. He made me feel like I was a burden. Like I was just another number. I can't have a baby naturally so him and I are gonna have to go through alot of procedures and visits together and to be honest I'm not looking forward to it. As it is my situation is very disheartening and having to go through him in order to fix the problem is a sacrifice I'll make, I don't want any sort of relationship with the man just at least a comfortable professional one would suffice.
