Dr. Johnson is wonderful: capable and kind. He is a clear expert in his field with a comprehensive approach to care and a compassionate and friendly bedside manner. He explains risks and treatments patiently and clearly.
He was truly concerned about my well being
As usual, dr. Johnson was helpful; answered our questions. etc.
Very personable and not rushed. He answered all my questions
Dr. Johnson is a superb physician. Calm and thoughtful, he is an excellent listener who takes all the time necessary with each patient. He has a great depth of experience while at the same time he is highly skilled in the latest advances. I highly recommend Dr David Johnson.
This is my third time with Dr. Johnson. He's thorough, and takes care of the problem.
One of the best Orhtopedic doctors in DC
As usual, Dr. Johnson was excellent to deal with. Totally professional, but also warm and caring, always giving details about what was happening.
Dr Johnson is fantastic. This is the second procedure I have had with him. He is knowledgeable, thorough and kind. I have seen many orthopods in my day and he is one of the best.
As usual Dr. Johnson immediately identified the issue. Told us what it meant for the future and how to deal with sme of the symptoms.
That was only because the staff took to long to check me in for my appointment. Otherwise, I usually only have to wait less than 30 minutes. He is a very professional Orthopedic doctor, I have been with him since 2013 when he did my first knee replacement.
The visit was good. But the follow up by his staff leaves you lost .They need to respond with compassion and promptly .No one expects people to jump but dont leave me a message about how busy you are. I am in healtcare also and will always be responsive ,informative and anticipate some of there concerns that patinet's may have.. So basically a system to f/u with patient's phone calls is needed. There needs to be dedicate phone line to his MOA (if one existed I did'nt get that #) ,the voice message should give info ,"like I'll return these calls before I leave office and dont tell me "how busy you are ".
He was thorough, professional, and friendly. He diagnosed my knee problem and explained it to me in terms that I could understand.
THIS IS NOT MY FIRST TIME TO SEE DR. JOHNSON HIS AIM IS TO HELP YOU GET BETTER, A VERY GOOD DOCTOR!!!!!!
Great Doctor! did knee surgery on one 6 years ago it has been great now I'm back for the other
Answered my questions thoughtfully and well. Is conservative on surgery and treatment base on 40 years experience.
Great as usual!
Dr. Johnson is very friendly and goes out of his way to make you understand what is going on. I highly recommend him!
I enjoyed my visit with Dr. Johnson. Dr. Johnson was very engaging. He made you feel as if you were his only patient. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an orthopedic. doctor.
David has been my doctor for more than 30 yrs. I have total confidence in him. He diagnosed the problem and treated me immediately. He is the best!
There is nobody better on Knees and Shoulders than Dr Johnson who has been taking care of my infirmaries for 30 years.
Very professional, knowledgeable, and conservative (will try everything before surgery). I have and will continue to refer others to Dr. Johnson.
He was very willing to educate me, answer my questions, and point out details of my MRI results. Very personable too.
This was not my first visit with Dr. Johnson but it was the first in a few years. As always, he was compassionate and took the time to explain everything. He listened to my concerns then discussed a course of action. What more could a patient ask for?
I've seen Dr Johnson several times and he has always been extremely helpful. He's a great doctor and a friendly person, always willing to take the time to answer all my questions. I'd recommend him to anyone, anytime.
Great doctor. His office seems understaffed and did not even know about the Zocdoc appointment.
It was a great appointment. It was on time, he answered all my questions and there were no issues with recovery.
I thought the wait to see him was pretty egregious, but he was wonderful.
My wife and I have been Dr. Johnson's patients for several surgerys and misc. other issues. He is always thorough, friendly, doesn't rush you, and has great bedside manner. The results from our surgerys were outstanding.
I have seen Dr. Johnson for multiple injuries. I really liked him in the past. However, the past several visits, I have waited a very long time for my appointments and then he rushes me out in less than 2 minutes. You should also realize that if you see him at WHC, the hospital charges a significant hospital fee (That zocdoc won't let me list here), in addition to your co-pay. There was no warning from his office about that.
David Johnson is a outstanding professional who knows his business and proceeds with skill.
This was only the first time I saw Dr. Johnson, but was very personable and seems determined solve the mystery of what is causing my pain.
avoid the new mexico ave location unless you enjoy ornery front desk staff who are quick to tell you dr. johnson only rents space in the office and all problems must be the washington hospital center office's fault. rude and unhelpful, they act as if you are a nuisance and they resent even having to talk to you. horrendous customer service. repeatedly behind on schedule (this is the second time in a row i have arrived on time for my appointment only to hear that 1) the doctor has at least 3 patients ahead of you and 2) no, they cannot give you a sense of how long it can be. and they only share this information with you if you ask.
He is an excellent clinician. Very knowledgeable in his field and very conservative and thorough in his recommendations for treatment
Absolutely awesome surgeon, and believe me it was not my first time at the rodeo. If one could enjoy arthroscopy then this was a winner.
I will highly recommend Dr. Johnson. He was amazing
Dr. Johnson was excellent!! Very thorough and patient and took his time explaining my situation. Very refreshing
I find Dr. Johnson a very thorough Dr. He has a nice bedside manner as well.
The staff, nurses, technications, and doctor were all friendly and professional and I highly recommend Dr. Johnson and his people.
Simply the best. His attention to detail was wonderful. I never felt rushed, and always felt he was very concerned for my well being.
The office did not have my appointment. The desk person had never heard of ZocDoc. I finally convinced them to check with Dr. Johnson and he agree to take the appt. This took more than an extra hour to get it straightened out. Totally unacceptable. Not the Drs fault.
I would say for your average broken bone he is perfectly fine, but I was dealing with a more complex issue. He was fine but not incredibly insightful. His office was difficult to communicate with when I was dealing with insurance issues.
Dr. Johnson is simply the best. He is a great orthopedic doctor. the visit was great as usual. I did not wait long and Dr. Johnson diagnosed my shoulder problem and plan of treatment after thoroughly examing me.
I was very satisfied with my visit, except for the fact of the long wait time (one hour). I do not think we patients should not have to wait so long. Our time is also valuable!
Dr. Johnson was cordial and capable on a rather hectic day due to a shortened schedule because of the papal visit. I went to him for just a fibula fracture, but he took time to explain what he saw on the xrays and what should be my course of treatment. I look forward to seeing him in 3 weeks for my follow-up.
He was thorough, patient and knowledgeable. The staff was friendly and professional. Loved that I didn't have to go elsewhere for an X-Ray.
I immediately felt comfortable with Dr Johnson and his manner. He didn't rush through the apt, but took time to listen to the history of my injury and has recommended treatment. I would really recommend him.
When it comes to knees there is none better.
I loved his personality and attention to detail. He found what others missed. I will definitely refer him to everyone!!
Dr. Johnson has been around the block and I felt I was in the hands of a pro. He pointed out that the Washington Medical Center is rated as one of the best in the area - something I didn't know - and he offered kind recommendations for other doctors. He was quick and thorough, his staff was friendly. I waited an hour to see him but that's not his fault - I was happy to have a seasoned, honest doctor at the end.
The doctor made sure to explain in my terms what was going on, and his bedside manners were awesome.
Dr. Johnson was extremely kind and professional. He listened to everything I had to say and knew what my problem was within the first few moments of his hands on assessment. He had to give me a deep joint injection and his technique was so flawless I barely felt a thing. I would recommend him to friends and family in a heartbeat!
I was very pleased with his services...he has a wonderful beside manner! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, I was seen right away, and I felt like I was the only patient in the office because I didn't have to wait and everyone was on point. Thank you Dr. Johnson!!
I liked him very much. However his office di NOT have me on the schedule so there is something amiss in the office's connection to ZocDoc.
Dr. Johnson is attentive, personable and highly professional. He has treated or operated on several members of my family and all are fully recovered. He is excellent!
Concerning my appointment from nurse to Doctor to X-ray techs excellent.
Dr. Johnson and his staff was very kind and professional. Dr. Johnson explain things very well and concise. I did not feel rushed and he answered all my questions.
Love dealing with him. Very professional and spends enough time with you to get everything r anything you need.
Dr. Johnson is great -- patient, professional & knowledgeable -- all you can ask for in a physician.
My first visit to Dr. Johnson was positive, aside from a harsh front desk assistant. He was friendly, understanding, and kind. My followup was fine until I was in pain from a new kind of brace and began to cry. The doctor was very taken aback by this and began speaking in a very terse, bothered tone that prompted me to say "I feel I've made you angry? I apologize," which should not occur in a doctor's office when you are in pain, period. I will continue to see this doctor, however, I encourage him to become more comfortable with tears and to not lose interest when a patient's MRI shows she/he will not require surgery...we are still worth your attention.
I went to this doctor after dislocating my knee in a sports injury. My first appointment with him was fine, he showed me how to properly use crutches, gave me clear instructions on next steps, and sent me off to schedule an MRI. When I came back 2 weeks later (it was awful timing, he had no appointments over the holidays), my leg was useless, I should have been in physical therapy, and it was excruciating to straighten my knee so I began to cry. He seemed very taken aback and scolded me, "why are you suddenly being weepy." When he read my scans, he also seemed irritated he wouldn't need to perform surgery (ironically I have to have it now, 6 months later). Needless to say, I did not return to this doctor and would not recommend him .
He is very professional, knowledgeable, explains clearly, conservative about treatment, offers options, not rushed-feeling, x-ray on site - very convenient
Dr Johnson is excellent doctor. He is very professional, wonderful bed side manner and very in tune with his patients. We need more doctors like him. E. M. Avery
Dr. Johnson was great. He was very thorough, spent a great deal of time explaining my condition and making recommendations. Great new offices, staff was polite and eager to please.
Excellent as always.
Fantastic! He knows what he is doing and gave me appropriate information to resolve my issue
