Hi there, I'm Deanna! With over 15 years of nursing experience, I am a highly skilled dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). My approach to therapy is comprehensive and patient-centered, grounded in empathy, compassion, and evidence-based practice. I am committed to providing high-quality care to individuals struggling with mental health issues and supporting their journey towards improved mental well-being.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to the individual's needs. A holistic, comprehensive, and client-centered approach is essential for optimal care. I draw from various evidence-based modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based techniques. I combine these approaches to provide each patient with the most effective treatment.
My focus
While I have extensive experience working with older adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, my patient focus extends to individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and identities. I am committed to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive care that respects and affirms each person's unique experiences and perspectives. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where all patients feel valued and understood. My patient focus is on individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions, including various depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, OCD, trauma-related disorders, bipolar, schizophrenia, psychosis, personality disorders, eating disorders, grief and loss, sleep-related disorders, and substance use disorders.
My communication style
Effective therapy requires clear communication. I establish a collaborative partnership with my patients, value transparency and openness, and actively listen to and support them. I encourage honest and open communication to ensure patients.
