Tell us what makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider.
I am passionate about empowering people through a holistic approach in primary care. I focus on identifying the root cause of health concerns by considering the whole person—physical, mental, psychological, spiritual health, and social well-being. This approach allows me to provide better treatment, prevention, and guidance through pharmacological treatment, health education, and lifestyle modification instead of relying on medication alone.
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
The primary care provider is the first line of defense against acute conditions progressing into chronic diseases. It’s important to consider the whole person—physically, mentally, psychologically, spiritually, and socially—in identifying, treating, and preventing conditions. A primary care provider must also be an advocate and protector. Most importantly, their role is to do no harm.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m no different than anyone else. In my spare time, you may find me at the gym, a local library checking out books or free DVDs, or we might cross paths in an airport or on a plane heading to a pristine beach overseas.
