Derin Colvin is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner at Serenity Mental Health Centers. Derin joined Serenity in September of 2022. With over 5 years of mental health experience, he offers all his patients a comprehensive and understanding care approach. After earning his Master of Science degree in nursing at Johns Hopkins University in 2018, Derin went on to earn his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Touro University Nevada and completed his certification in 2021 to become board certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner in Arizona. Previously, he gained valuable clinical experience practicing psychiatry with rotations at Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Arizona Department of Corrections, and multiple private outpatient clinics. Derin approaches every patient with compassion and understanding. He understands that every patient is unique, and he looks at all aspects of a patient’s life to provide a holistic picture as he collaborates with the patient to produce an optimal plan for treatment. He enjoys working with patients and continually strives to ensure they are comfortable. Outside of work, Derin has a passion for travel and has visited over 50 different countries around the world. He loves trying new foods, seeing new sites, and experiencing new cultures. When he is local, he enjoys trying new restaurants around the valley. He is also the lucky father of two boys and happily married to an incredible spouse that supports him in his endeavors. Quality care is important to Derin. He works to research the most up-to-date treatments and evidence-based practices and incorporate them into his personal practice. At Serenity, he offers treatment through ketamine therapy, TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation), and medication management. He looks forward to using these advanced treatments to help his patients achieve immediate, lasting results.
