Dr. Dev Lahiri graduated from Rutgers Preparatory School here in New Jersey in 1989 and then went on to recieve his bachelor's degree from Columbia University in 1993. Dr. Lahiri received his medical degree in 1998 from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He then completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr, Lahiri has been in private practice in Somerville NJ since 2001 and has had an additional practice in Somerset since 2004. In 2007, he developed a special interest in the field of Bariatric Medicine. Bariatric Medicine is the specialty that focuses on the treatment of Obesity, Overweight and related medical conditions. Dr. Lahiri has furthered his expertise in this area by attending a number of educational conferences by the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. He recently completed the the Board Examination of the American Board of Bariatric Medicine. After passing this examination he is soon to be board certified by the American Board of Bariatric Medicine. Although Dr. Lahiri has a special interest and expertise in the treatment of obesity, he appreciates all aspects of the practice of Internal Medicine. He has also had a lot of experience in caring for the elderly. He served as medical director of a large subacute rehabilitation and nursing facility in Bridgewater, NJ for five years. He is currently the medical director of the Regency Heritage Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Somerset where he also cares for many subacute and long term patients. On a personal note, Dr. Lahiri lives and practices in the same town where he graduated high school. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children. He also enjoys playing tennis and skiing and tries to maintain an active lifestyle.
