Dinara Amanbekova is a compassionate and insightful psychiatrist, specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry and based in New York. Originally from Kyrgyzstan, Dr. Amanbekova earned her doctorate in medicine from the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy and completed her internship in child psychiatry at the State Psychiatric-Neurological Hospital, also in Kyrgyzstan. After immigrating to the United States, Dr. Amanbekova completed her residency training in psychiatry at the State University of New York and accomplished her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Amanbekova is certified in psychiatry and neurology as well as child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association. In addition to publishing prolifically in multiple journals, she also holds a number of other positions in academia, including a clinical assistant professorship at the New York University School of Medicine.
Some of the psychiatric disorders Dr. Amanbekova has treated and managed include bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, autism, psychotic features, and postpartum depression. She also offers services in pediatric behavioral therapy, pediatric anger management, psychotherapy, and psychiatric medication review.
