Dr Greene is a great psychiatrist. He has a ton of knowledge and its not the newly college graduate text book knowledge. He has years of experience and this natural intelligence to an array of disorders that has helped me in so many ways. Also, Sonia is his office manager, Sonia doesn’t need to have an MD in front of her name in order to talk to her. She has such a strong presence in the office you can’t help but want to speak to her while visiting Dr. Greene. Sonia is very consistent with appointments and truly cares for Dr. Greene’s patients. I love speaking with Dr. Greene then to Sonia while making my next appointment or if there is extra time before the next patient. She does not claim to be a medical professional in anyway, but she has such a different way of looking at life and the way she explains her version of the who, what when and whys of life is so interesting to hear about and she really makes you think and opens other paths of thought you most likely never would have thought of otherwise. After leaving the office you have this combination of feelings such as a moving step closer to healing and happiness and a greater feeling of hope. It’s a natural high you gain from the office of Dr Greene that no prescription or medication could give you after you leave. Highly Recommended!
I thought Dr. Green was extremely compassionate caring and really willing to find a solution to many difficult problems. I cannot wait to go back and talk to him again next week. His receptionist Sonia is a love the whole experience was comforting calming and very needed.

Dr. Greene seemed nice, but his assistant does most of the talking. He wasnt the right fit for me because of that lack of privacy and I felt I couldn't create a relationship with him. He is a much older gentleman who relies heavily on his assistant to help treat his patients.

Dr. Greene shouldn't be practicing. I was there for maybe 20 minutes and it was the receptionist, Sonia, that conducted my "session". She is a loud-mouthed woman that had no business being in the room during my appointment. Dr. Greene fell asleep three times while I was in there. I sat there and waited for him to wake up because I didn't know what else to do. At his age, he could have died sitting next to me and I'd be none the wiser as he barely moved or spoke. They also only accept cash for payments and Sonia charged me double for my copay even after I showed her the copay that was clearly labeled on my insurance card. Be careful with this one here. They could really do some damage. I have already told my insurance company that this guy is no more a doctor than I am.
Dr. Greene was great!! I booked a last minute consultation with him on a Sunday when no other Psyc is working. I actually felt more comfortable being in his home office then in a impersonal mundane doctors office. No waiting time, Sonia his office secretary is awesome, she is on top of everything that needs to get done immediately. I look forward to going back to Dr. Greene very soon.
Such a wonderful experience! Dr. Greene is so helpful and kind and makes you feel so comfortable, as does Sonya who works with him! They are both just so nice and such a pleasure to be around and I cannot recommend this practice enough! If I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would!!
Stay very far away from this doctor!! I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt based on pervious reviews, but I've experienced it myself. If I could of give this doctor zero stars I would. First of all this doctor is taking appointments in his apartment. He barely does anything and is almost bedbound. His inexperience, unprofessional, aid who has no knowledge and the medical field is doing all of his work. She's very rude! Who gives her the authority to determine if you're sick or not? And why is she even prescribing medication and writing doctors notes? When I asked her for an excuse letter for my employer she told me no I can't get one and I need to find another doctor which is ridiculous, she said I'm the first person to ask for an excuse letter. I'm taking time off because I'm sick or I'm coming to see you and I can't get one? I'll be reporting this doctor to the New York State Medical Board, trust and believe. This is unbelievable!
Dr. Greene is probably one of the best psychiatrists I have ever been to. I have seen a few in the NYC area who barely speak to you and just write a prescription. Dr. Greene actually listens to you and gives feedback during your sessions. I have seen him multiple times over the past year. I leave my appointments feeling some relief and emotionally. He has an excellent bedside manner and I don't think I've had a better psychiatrist.
This MD is nothing short of a miracle. I found him listed and when to my first appointment. The minute I spoke to him, I knew I was in the best medical care possible. MD Greene is an outstanding medical provider and I would trust him with my life. His colleague Sonia is also outstanding. MD Greene is extremely medically knowledgeable and it shows at every appointment. This medical team is what you rarely what you see in the medical profession today. This includes knowledge, empathy, and professionalism. MD Greene and Sonia have given me my life back. That is truly a priceless gift.
My therapist wanted me to go see a psychiatrist to determine whether I needed to take medication for my troubling symptoms, which including vague suicidal ideation. I could not get a quick appointment with anyone, so I went to Dr. Greene because he was one of the only local doctors with immediate availability. It became clear why this was the case. The doctor is downright nasty, condescending, unsympathetic and unprofessional. Clearly the doctor is at the end of his career, and at the risk of sounding ageist, he needs to retire. To be fair, I left after 5 - 10 minutes because it became immediately apparent that there was no chance of continuing treatment with him after the initial visit, something he insisted upon almost as soon as I sat in the chair. He seemed incredulous that I was seeking help for depression and that I had thoughts of ending it all. Furthermore, he wanted me to stop seeing my therapist and stated that I should see him only or that he wouldn't treat me. I don't see that going to a specialist for a medicine evaluation is all too unusual, but fair enough. However, the nastiness and condescending attitude was unwarranted. I felt even more helpless after seeing the doctor, but glad that I found the strength to get up and leave the office before I wasted my time and money. I am an affluent professional who deals with clients on a daily basis and I know that this is not how one is supposed to treat people, especially those seeking help for mental anguish.
Dr Greene was very professional and helpful. I would definitely recommend him. Thank you Doc! Sonia was also a pleasure and knowledgeable too. Great team!
I highly recommend Dr Greene. Dr Greene is a gentleman and a scholar . Dr. Green and his staff take time and give personal attention to every patient as if they are family. It is rare to find a medical practice like this today.
I will just repeat one statement, verbatim, that this "psychiatrist" literally yelled at me. He, who by definition should appreciate the profound impact words, especially when maliciously spoken, can have on a person's psyche. "It's sad that you came here expecting to receive my services! This isn't a charity!". And why did he say this? Because he didn't accept my insurance. The kicker?? I called the office (really just his apartment with his home health aide doubling as his secretary) earlier in the morning to verify that they did indeed accept my insurance. Greene himself picked up the phone and said that he did!! After my shock subsided, I calmly stated that I had called earlier and he himself had verified his acceptance of my insurance. His response? "No, I didn't say that!!!". Need I really say more? Mortifying. Simply mortifying.
Unprofessional, argumentative, and no confidentiality. The secretary works in the same office as the therapist and is present during the session. Moreover, the door between the waiting area and the office is open, so anyone in the waiting room can listen to the sessions. He was very rude and unpleasant. The first 10 minutes of the session was an argument about how he would not see me if I treated with any other therapists. I had to convince him that I would consider not seeing my other therapist for him to even begin his evaluation.
He is suppose to accept ghi...spoke to his secretary and was told that he does not want to accept ghi any more because they do not pay enough...Hello!! then why are you listed as a ghi provider?...will be complaining to ghi... :(
He was great!
DR. GREENE HAS HELPED ME TREMENDOUSLY. THIS VISIT, AS ALWAYS WAS EXTREMELY INSIGHTFUL AND HELPFUL. I CANNOT GIVE A BETTER RECOMMENDATION.
