Dr. Perez grew up in Puerto Rico in a family where unity, community service and academic achievement were strongly valued. He attributes these as important factors that became a significant formative base and defined his character when interacting with others. This has also shaped his character and life goal of impacting the lives of many through his work and social services.
After completing his undergraduate education at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Perez returned to Puerto Rico for medical school. Following the completion of his medical degree, he completed his residencies in pediatrics and psychiatry in Miami, Florida. He then moved his wife and newborn girl to Houston, Texas where he then then completed specialty training in consult-liaison psychiatry and then in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Following his desire to know and learn more about the world and his love and pride for country, he became an officer in the US Navy where he began his military career in Okinawa, Japan where his son was born. Returning to the states, he served in the military several more years as a medical officer before retiring from active duty.
Dr. Perez relocated with his family to Phoenix, Arizona where he has become a leader in the local and psychiatric community. After having served as a medical director or lead psychiatrist at several community health agencies, he now dedicates 100% of his time to patient and family care. With over 20 years of experience, he sees his goal of impacting the lives of others as the driving force behind his current endeavors.
Nurse Practitioner Jennifer Linehan will be able to provide services on days that Dr. Perez is not available. Jennifer is able to provide services to children under Dr. Perez's supervision.
