Dr. Epstein is a very compassionate doctor and person. She listens when I tell her what is going on. She always spends time with me and explains everything in a way that is easy to follow. Although my case is a little complicated, Dr. Epstein has not stopped trying to figure out what is going on, even after the other doctors have thrown up their hands and run out of ways to try and help me.

Advanced Allergy & Asthma, PLLC. is an allergy practice located in Rockville Centre, New York. Ellen Epstein, M.D. started the practice in 1986. Dr. Epstein treats all allergic diseases including asthma, allergic rhinitis, cough, eczema, allergic skin disease, urticaria (hives), angioedema, insect allergy, food allergy, sinusitis, drug reactions, eye allergy, cosmetic allergy, immunodeficiency, allergy immunotherapy, and administration of Xolair, Nucala, Fasenra and Dupixent new injections for Asthma, urticarial(Hives), and Excema.
She received her M.D. degree from New York University School of Medicine. She trained in Internal Medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital and completed an Allergy/Immunology Fellowship in Pediatric and Adult Allergy at Tufts - New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. She is on the staff at Northwell– Long Island Jewish Medical Center where she is a faculty advisor for training fellows in the Allergy Training Program. She is also on the staff of South Nassau Communities Hospital, Mercy Medical Center and Franklin Hospital Medical Center. The office is a part of Catholic Health Services.
Dr. Epstein has been a consultant for many magazines as well as a regular guest on Sirius Radio. She has also been an expert witness for many legal cases involving latex allergy.

Dr. Epstein took the time to understand what my problem was and even asked me if she answered all of my questions. She outlined what the causes of my hives could be, explained what the work up would be, but did it in a non-alarming way. I was extremely anxious and she reassured me. She also called me back as soon as the blood tests came back and even though she wanted me to be further evaluated for my thyroid, she was reassuring. Friendly and professional. Staff very welcoming. I’m impressed. Wonderful experience and nice change from experiences I have had before.

Great office. Great physician! I have to wait after my allergy injection to be sure I don't have a reaction. I don't consider that part of waiting as that is part of the visit. My insurance rejected a prescription for Epipen and I would have had to pay a lot for the generic. Dr. Epstein gave me a sample and actually went above and beyond to get it approved with another company with NO copay at all. Terrific bedside manner!

I was treated by my primary care doctor for a viral infection, which has been getting worse. I was extremely upset, as I have a vacation planned. My cough was severe and I had a fever, so I used Zocdoc and got an appointment right away. The wait time was about 10 minutes and Dr. Epstein determined that I need an antibiotic and a different inhaler. She actually took me off of the over the counter medication that I was taking, and that really helped. I can't believe how much better I feel this morning. The office staff was extremely well informed and pleasant. I definitely will be using Dr. Epstein again.

I will never go back to Dr Epstein. My wait time would be typically hour to hour and half just to see her for about 5 minutes. There have been times that there is no where to sit in the waiting room. She definitely over books her patients. I recently decided that I need to change doctors. I called her office and spoke to her office manager. I heard Dr Epstein in the background say "put her on hold" Dr Epstein then got on the phone. I explained to her that i just could no longer wait that long for an injection that I have to get monthly. She informed me that she would not send over information to my new doctor. Her words "let them get the information from scratch" she also told me she would not release any medications to me if she had any, that she would return them to the pharmacy. I will never go back to such an unethical doctor.

Once again (not my first visit), Dr. Epstein took an extraordinary amount of time to assess my situation and determine the appropriate treatment. I was very impressed with Dr. Epstein’s knowledge and bedside manner. I use most doctors at teaching hospitals in NYC and she certainly is of that quality. I needed an emergency appointment and I was able to get one on ZocDoc. The office was great. I was seen promptly and Dr. Epstein spent a lot of time explaining to me what my symptoms were from. She figured out what was causing my skin rash, and now I no longer have it or require medications to control it! I had this rash for 6 months and no other doctor could figure it out.
On top of that, I had my little sister at the appointment with me, and Dr. Epstein gave her a toy at the end, which made her day. She’s the best!

Dr. Epstein was so wonderful with my son who has multiple disabilities. She saw him right away, knowing he wasn't comfortable waiting. Wonderful doctor and office! Had severe hives and booked the appointment on zoc doc and got a response back right away, even though it was a weekend. In fact, they followed up and explained thoroughly what I needed to do before the appointment, so that I filled the forms out completely. It really saved a lot of time once I got to the office. Very courteous, friendly staff. Dr. Epstein was very easy to talk to and genuinely concerned about my problem. She was very knowledgeable and not rushed. She was able to identify the problem after asking me about products I was using. She explained what needed to be done to confirm her suspicions and even started the testing the same day. Prescription sent in electronically from office immediately and by the time I was in the car CVS had already told me it was ready. Best service I have seen in a doctor’s office in a long time! Busy office, but they did tell me how long I would be there because of possible testing which I appreciated.

I have been using Dr. Epstein for years. She helped me avoid sinus surgery after I was treated by my Primary doctor and ENT. She knew exactly what to treat me with and by treating with certain meds my, symptoms resolved completely. Getting an appointment is easy- if you need to be seen, the office will fit you in. They also tell me if I have a wait, in advance, which is appreciated. I would rather be seen, even if I have to wait to be seen. Everyone is friendly. The doctor is great and I would recommend her to anyone. I trust her judgment on many issues, in addition to allergy. It's so rare to find a smart and nice doctor these days!

I was surprised that for a 7:35 AM appointment there were already 8 people waiting in the waiting room when I arrived. There were also patients who came for allergy shots that complained about the wait for allergy shots. It would be easier if there was a nurse or PA on staff who could administer the shots. My exam was pretty though. The credit card policy is a little odd to me. I use a Flexible Spending Visa Card and my co-pay is less than their required charge fee. They claim they credit the difference to future visits.
