Before coming to Addabbo, Dr. Siapno participated in global health rotations in Kenya, Ghana, and India, gaining valuable insights into cultural diversity. She has a special interest in preventative medicine. ?One of the things I like best about working at Addabbo is its diversity in both patients and staff. It is exciting to learn how people?s traditions, food, and relationships shape our pediatric patients? lives,? says Dr. Siapno. ?I took Spanish in high school, but my proficiency has increased tenfold since working at Site 2!? She describes ?Excellence Every Day? as providing top-quality care for all patients. ?It is important to follow evidence-based medicine and stay up to date on current guidelines so we can manage our patients? conditions safely and effectively?especially for children who have little control over getting sick or who may have hereditary conditions. It is our job as pediatricians to work with families as a team to care for our little ones,? explains Siapno. Dr. Siapno is inspired by many families served at Addabbo and the challenges they overcome to provide their children with proper healthcare and education. She admits her job can be difficult at times, but the greatest feeling is knowing she has made a difference?whether helping a sick baby, educating a parent about asthma management, or connecting a depressed teenager with mental health resources.
