Dr. Fashakin was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and graduated from the Medical School of the College of Medicine of the University of Ibadan, where he placed first in his class. He later completed a prestigious surgical fellowship in Edinburgh, Scotland, before immigrating to United States, ultimately switching his focus to Family Care and rising to Chief Resident at Jamaica Hospital. Upon finishing his residency in 1996, he established his private practice, where he has remained to this day.
In addition to being licensed to practice medicine, he is admitted to the State Bars of New York, New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He obtained his law degree from St. Johns School of Law, graduating at the top of his class with high honors. He is a registered soccer referee in Nigeria,UK and the US, and plays the piano, guitar and violin. He is also an avid golfer with a handicap index in the low twenties.

The staff asks you personal questions in an open room where other patients are in ear shot..
plus they ask you to sign a disclosure and take a picture to add to your file... WHY?!??

If I could explain the entire story of my visit with Mr. Fashakin you probably wouldn't believe me. Long story short, I wouldn't advise anyone to schedule an appointment with him. I never go to the doctor so I went with four simple things to address (allergies and such). After getting to my second bullet point he cut me off, wrote some stuff down, typed on the computer and prescribed me some medicine. He prescribed me some medicine with no explanation for anything and after I asked about something else I was dealing with, he told me verbatim "I don't know, I'm not God." Office wait was also two whole hours. Dont go.

The doctors facility was extremely unorganized. The nurse at the front desk didn't do my required check in since I was a new patient until I asked her to do it.
The doctor saw where I worked on my insurance card and said I should have no problem paying his fee because of where I worked.
The doctor prescribed me 2 different type of medications since I told hi my issues. I asked him if he would like to get my historical information from my previous doctor since I just moved to the neighborhood and he told me me no because I told him all he needed to know in the 10 minutes of conversation we had.
I took blood work and he never called me back to discuss my results or request for me to make a follow up appointment since my symptoms have been ongoing for 2 years. He charged me and never provided any feedback on what any next steps should be.
I called him for my results and I was told my chart was closed therefore they could not discuss my results with me but I would need to come back for a new doctor visit to get a referral and get checked again.
This doctor is only interested in receiving payment for horrible services.

This is the most Unprofessional doctors office I've ever been too. they are highly unorganized, and they don't like to take responsibility when they mess up! My daughter went there for a routine physical. First off I got there 20 minutes before my appointment time and they already had 20 patients waiting to see the doctor! I asked about my appointment and they said they didn't have it in the system even though I received numerous confirmations about my appointment! the receptionist proceeded to explain to me that its not her fault, its the "other girls" fault that manages the Zoc Doc appointments. I let her know, that I didn't care about the excuses I just wanted to see the doctors, and I did......2 HOURS LATER!!!!!!! fast forward 3 days later, my daughter had to go back and read the results of the PPD test and so we go back to fill out a form that she needed for summer camp, and they tell us that they can fill it out unless I bring my daughter back in to do a vision test. I told them they did the vision test when she was there! The girl who did it didn't put the results in the file!!!! I am just disgusted with this doctors office. don't go there unless you want to leave completely frustrated. on another note, I actually liked the doctor, but if I have to deal with all of that to see him, its not worth it!!!!!!!

The office opened at 2 I was here at 2 for my appointment it is now 4 pm and the doctor is still not in the office to see me . The staff keeps telling me that he is at his other office and will come soon but I waited for 2 hours and he's still a no show this is really inconvenient for me because I only have one day off and he is not even here to see me .

The office staff is very unprofessional. They're unorganized, unprofessional, and very rude. The doctor yells at his patients. Making an appointment in this place is a joke, its first come first serve. I'm waiting in the office and the doctor didn't haven't seen a a patient in an half an hour.and when you finally see him he's getting ready to make breakfast along with half his staff.

Appointments must be irrelevant to these people. It took 3 hours from the point I walked up to the front desk to seeing the doctor.
Office: Small, crowded, dirty, smells bad
Staff: Rude, dismissive, lazy, incompetent
The only reason I came to this place is because my regular doctor wasn't available and I needed a prescription fast. I checked in online and sent all the information forms before coming here and for some reason they didn't have anything aside from my name and number.
I had to fill out the form again, answer the same questions to a nurse who took my weight and blood pressure (even though I told her I only needed a prescription) and then answer the same questions to the doctor.
Aside from this the doctor was quick to examine me and told me said I could pick up my prescriptions. I was in his office for less than a minute.

I was looking forward to my visit and establishing a new doctor based on Dr. Fashakin's reviews. However, when I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment the office was overflowing with patients. The front desk seemed in disarray and when I finally made it through the line to check-in I was greeted with an aggressive "I told them not to take any new patients." The employee then through her arms up and stormed away before coming back and telling me to try to take a seat if I could find one, it was going to be a while... I hope the office demonstrates a more professional tone on a day-to-day basis. Sadly, I won't be going back to find out.

Dr. Fashakin is so relaxed, knowledgeable, and professional that one feels at ease right away. He seems to truly delight in his work. He was thorough and unhurried; very rare qualities these days.
The receptionist, too, is wonderful. She is approachable, relaxed, and capable in all she does.

Dr. Fashakin is a very pleasant and charismatic doctor. He did yell at me because I wasn't sitting in the "Next Patient" chair, but what was I supposed to do? Tell the lady already sitting there to get up? I actually found that funny rather than insulting so I just laughed and brushed it off.
During my visit with Dr. Fashakin, he seemed to be knowledgeable about my condition and was attentive while I explained my issues. I only say "seemed to be knowledgeable" because I still have to give his treatment time to work. I hope it does! My visit with Dr. Fashakin was a bit brief but he had a growing number of patients waiting so it's understandable.
As for the office itself, I am less enthusiastic about it. The office needs a serious upgrade. It was very messy and unorganized. The staff could also be more professional. They weren't rude, but their lack of professionalism even led to their inefficiency. The receptionist referred me to another assistant just to call my pharmacy, then the assistant referred me back to the receptionist so that the receptionist instead could do it. I didn't appreciate the back and forth for such a simple task when neither of them were busy. Lisa, on the other hand was very helpful and was willing to assist me so she instead updated my pharmacy info after I decided to call myself. There was also an issue with my ZocDoc appointment. I checked-in and completed my paperwork online and the receptionist said I was not in their system or schedule. The mishap with the scheduling didn't affect my appointment but I guess it's best to call and confirm with the office when you book thru ZocDoc until they get the hang of it.
All in all, I would definitely visit Dr.Fashakin again. He was very welcoming and understanding. I just wish the office was more inviting.

Sexist sign on the wall, I was very uncomfortable. Extremely long wait time, doctor seemed to want to get me out of the room as soon as possible. To top it all off, he wasn't able to help me. Did not provide care for all that I need.
