In fairness to Dr. Mattioli, when I arrived for my appointment, the staff had no record of my having been scheduled. Apparently the Zocdoc system failed even though I had in my possession the email confirmation of the appointment. Because of the Zocdoc failure, I was forced to wait an excessively long time for the appointment. I was in the office over two hours for a normal annual checkup.

Dr. Mattioli is board-certified by the American Board of Physician Specialites in Ophthalmology. He has performed hundreds of cataract/implant procedures and 30,000 laser refractive treatments, as well as cosmetic procedures such as blepharoplasty, Botox, and Latisse treatments.
He is the original Houston Medical Director for a national LASIK corporation from 2003-2012. Now he is solely dedicated to his patients as a private practice surgeon delivering advanced care in a comfortable environment.
Dr. Mattioli had LASIK himself and has been practicing in Houston since 2001, caring for and treating patients in all aspects of general eye care.
He speaks Spanish fluently. He personally treated several Wounded Warriors.

I like this eye doctor but they really need to get a handle on their scheduling. I needed a follow up and was told they're booked solid for three weeks but they have appointments every half hour listed on zocdoc - probably part of the issue.

Dr. Mattioli is fantastic at explaining the procedures, preparing you for what to expect, being insanely comprehensive, and following up to ensure everything is going well post-procedure. I was very concerned about doing LASIK prior to meeting Dr. Mattioli, but knew pretty quickly I was in trusted hands. His staff is incredibly courteous, knowledgable, and helpful. I am never this enthusiastic about a doctor, but this office went out of the way to go above and beyond my expectations.

Yo estaba muy angustisda por lo q me ocurria y por no tener seguro, y recibi un trato unico de parte d ellos en todos los sentidos, Gracias!!!
