George M. Suarez, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.A.P. Is a Board certified urologist who practices in Miami, Florida, and is a former faculty member of the University of Miami department of Urology. Dr Suarez completed his training in general surgery at Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois, and his urology residency and fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana. He has received numerous awards including the S.E.S American Urology Association prestigious Montague Boyd award for excellence in research. He is an active member of numerous medical societies including the Societe Internationale D'Urologie, the European Urology Association, the New York Academy of Sciences and the American Urologic Association. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
In addition to a urology practice that extends over 20 years, he has been involved over the years in the development and evolution of a revolutionary technology, HIFU: High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. Together with his vast clinical experience, he is medical director for USHIFU and Focus Surgery, and is a member of the board of directors of both companies. In 2005 he received an award of recognition from the board of directors of Focus surgery for his work and commitment to the HIFU technology. He is the founder and president of The International HIFU Society, a non- for-profit 501(c) 3, whose mission is to further promote research, education and knowledge of HIFU, as well as serving as a credentialing body that trains and certifies physician in HIFU.

I am very disappointed by my experience here. I scheduled through Zocdoc and my appointment was not in the system upon arrival. To make matters worse, last week I was originally supposed to have an appointment, though it was cancelled because the doctor would be out all week. This was not reflected on the Zocdoc site, and I was able to schedule an impossible appointment (that was then cancelled and replaced with the one I had today).
Upon arrival, Dr. Suarez did not greet me and mentioned that 'today was crazy'. I explained my symptoms and within a minute I was prescribed medicine without any exploration as to why I am experiencing my symptoms. I did not receive any explanation from Dr. Suarez regarding the reasoning for the medication and I was handed a prescription and sent off to the front desk. I am not comfortable with being prescribed strong medication based on a 45 second explanation of my problem. I will not be visiting this doctor again.

The doctor wasn't even in the office during my scheduled appointment because he was in surgery. When he showed up there were at least 3 patients ahead of me. He spent an hour on one patient and the secretaries even (unprofessionally) commented on it. I ended up waiting until after 4 to be seen for my 2:00 appointment. He didn't really answer any questions I had. I would not visit this doctor again

It was my first visit and I had to wait well over an 1 1/2 hour for his arrival. I was first on the afternoon list. When the MD finally arrived, he did not apologyzed for his lateness. No physical examination was carried out, no labs, absolutely nothing It was a 15-20 minute questions/response interview. Only a prescription was given. Not a people person. I've been treated by many phsyicians and the majority are true professionals who seek out the best for their patients. That feeling was totally absent with this doctor. Punctuality is important. Many patients do work. Staff was great, kind and professional.

Waiting time was two hours which I always find disrespectful and impolite. That being said, it seems to be a norm in Miami and I haven't been to a doctor in the last 20 years that didn't have that waiting time so, in comparison, the doctor shouldn't rate less than any other doctor based on that regard.
As far as the consultation itself, I was really satisfied and I found the doctor to be very professional. He didn't linger with friendly conversation (which I don't really care for) but I didn't feel rushed and I left feeling that I had been examined properly and received all the information I needed.
So far I will definitely continue to visit Dr. Suarez for any urology problems I might have in the future.

Unfortunately, this doctor was very short and dry with me. I definitely did not feel as if I was welcome. After asking a series of questions, he wrote a few things down and sent me to do some blood work and set up a follow-up appointment. During the follow-up I was not seen by him but by his assistant, which I found infinitely more likable than the doctor himself. There was also some drama between the doctor and the staff. They seemed irritated by him. And the couple other times I returned I was seen by his assistant again. Seems the doctor is far too busy to be bothered by his patients' needs.

Doctor is extremely dry and does not have an empathetic bone in his body. He is very cold and does not deliver any kind of news, whether good or bad, in the manner in which a doctor in his field should.

Office Staff and set up is great. No complaints, the staff seemed to like and know what they are doing it and are custumer service driven trying to accomodate all with a smile and friendliness. Dr. Suarez lack of professionalism, minimal patient contact, undirect eye contact, and ways of delvering message has a lot to be desired. Not a peopleperson.
