I had tendonist in my ankle and after Dr A healed that in 2 weeks. Another foot problem revealed it self. He didn't give up,didn't make me feel crazy. He did everything to ease my pain and try to heal my foot. He can be the Mcgyver of podiatry before surgery is discussed.

Dr. Austin has lived in the Bay Area since 1996 when he began his Graduate Education at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. He attended the University of Oregon. The coursework which would earn him a Bachelor of Science in Biology also fulfilled pre-med requirements and a minor in Spanish. While at the University of Oregon, Dr. Austin participated in Neuroscience Research contributing to a publication in the Journal of Developmental Biology. Research was also part of his Graduate Education, while studying melatonin administration in diabetic rats.
After earning his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine with honors, his Post-graduate education took him to Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center for one year of residency in primary podiatric medicine. The next two years of residency brought Dr. Austin back to the Bay Area where he completed his Podiatric Surgical Residency Training at Kaiser Santa Clara. Several specific aspects of surgical podiatry became of special interest, including working with children to correct club foot deformity, diabetic foot care, and foot and ankle trauma.

Dr. Austin was great! He was very easy to talk to and took the time to carefully explain my whole procedure. We chatted about & listened to dance music while he operated on my ingrown toenail. It was nice that he took the time to ask which music I'd like and it definitely helped calm my nerves a bit. (I'm pretty scared of needles.) I'd highly recommend him!

We took our son to Dr. Austin for a second opinion. We were very happy to find out that there were procedures that can be done to help our son. Very happy with the treatment plan. Dr. Austin is amazing. I've been to seven different podiatrist and he is by far the best. I was extremely comfortable and was given a lot of great information about how to take care of my feet. Also the shaving was painless. In the past it was extremly painful at times, however with Dr. Austin it was an amazing expierence. I would recommend him to anyone. I will be retrning to him since with any and all foot problems. He is the best.

Dr. Austin is one of the most competent doctors I have every seen. I had to have surgery and needed to have it very soon because of an upcoming trip. He got me in in 2 days! I followed his directions to the letter and have had absolutely no pain what so ever!
Dr. Austin has the experience you need and a very gentle bedside manner. He talks to you with respect and always explains what and why he is doing it. You are in great hands under the care of Dr. Austin.

I've had 5 ingrown toenails in my life and my last experience with another doctor wasn't great. I looked at a lot of reviews for my area and settled on Dr Austin. He was very thorough throughout the whole procedure and made a great effort to ensure I was comfortable and pain free. Out of all the toe nail procedures, this one was the best. It was by no means completely pain free, but if I had another ingrown toe nail, I'd definitely go back to him.

The procedure was painless. Then I kept waiting for the pain to start after the novacaine wore off and it never came. I was amazed. Doctor Austin was amazing. If you have an ingrown toenail or any foot problems he is the guy to see. Highly recommend.

Had to wait a while to get in, but was the first appointment of the day on a Saturday, so I'm not bothered. Dr Austin's manner seems a bit nervous, but very knowledgeable and he eased into joking and sharing stories once I'd been in there for a while. He was very happy to explain what he was doing and show me how things worked. The visit took longer than anticipated but I think that was because of the length of the procedure, not anything the doctor did wrong. Overall, a great experience!

Dr. Austin took the time to discuss my issue and the required procedure to correct it. He explained the causes of my condition, including what I can do to prevent it, and made me feel very at ease. For the procedure itself, Dr. Austin made sure I understood the steps and took the time to answer my questions.
Though I am anxious about medical procedures, I felt at ease throughout. Dr. Austin talked me through what to expect during recovery and we set a follow-up appointment at a time that was convenient for me. I truly hope I don't have this condition again but if I do I know I'll return to Dr. Austin to correct it!

I had a muscle strain after a long run.The doctor took a detailed description of the injury and walked me through to give the complete history. After that, he explained me the reason of the injury with the foot's anatomy shown in simple terms.
Though there wasn't any direct treatment involved (since the tissue had to repair itself), the doctor was very professional in explaining the cause of injury and ways to avoid it.

I needed a foot doctor for increasing heel pain and was able to book a same day appointment through ZocDoc. My insurance was fortunately accepted. After identifying the source of pain to be a suspicious looking cyst that impinged the nerve, Dr. Austin performed the surgery that same week for cyst removal and biopsy.
I felt good post-op, so good I was up walking and going to the gym when I should have had my leg elevated and on ice. Not surprisingly I developed a blister and downplayed the pain longer than i should have. Thankfully, Dr. Austin saw me sooner than the standard 1 week post-op follow-up appointment and quickly treated the budding infection.
I'm walking without pain and well on my way to return to running.
Dr. Austin educated me on possible causes for cyst and the biomechanics of foot to prevent/slow callous development which was likely related to cyst. He placed phone calls to my pharmacist to facilitate medications. He wrote letters to my employer to adjust my workload appropriately in the interest of improving outcome. Dr. Austin is friendly, professional and responsive to patient needs. I would refer Dr. Austin to anyone who needs a good podiatrist.

I saw Dr. Austin as a result of a fairly serious toe injury. When we discussed surgery, he explained his surgery technique, which helps minimize the pain after a procedure. Sure enough, due to his "gentle" technique, I have had minimal pain after the surgery. I will need a bunion procedure in the future, and Dr. Austin will definitely be the surgeon.

First of all the office manager is a true gem! I just love being greeted with a smile and with a great attitude! The office was in a nice area, the office was clean, and Doctor Austin was fabulous! He spent time explaining in detail the problem I had with my foot which I think is very important to a patient. He gave me his honest opinion about my concerns, discussed the appropriate diagnostics and treatment modalities that I will go through.
