Dr. Gohar S. Khan graduated in 1968 from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. With several physicians in her family, it is evident that a dedication to providing excellent medical care is in her blood and it was her lifelong ambition.
Dr. Khan received her medical residency training at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach. Family Medicine physicians receive residency training in pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, psychiatry, neurology and surgery as well as instruction in geriatrics, emergency medicine, ophthalmology, radiology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, and urology. Thus, they are trained in comprehensive health care. Dr. Khan has been a Family Medicine physician serving patients in Volusia and Flagler counties for nearly 40 years.
In addition to providing excellent Family Medicine care to generation after generation of patients, Dr. Gohar S. Khan offers her expertise to medical students teaching at Kaiser University, Daytona State College and the University of South Florida. Nurse Practitioner students from those learning institutions also receive practical, on-site training from Dr. Khan in her South Daytona office.
Dr. Khan loves aviation, so it is fitting that she is an FAA-authorized medical examiner for pilot certification. She enjoys watching sports and participating in sports games on her Wii. She was a table tennis champion during her college years!
