Dr Janis has a great manor and approach. You feel like he is a coach guiding you to your goals. He has followed up with me a couple of times when my prescriptions have changed to check on any side effects. Dr. Janis is very thoughtful and always includes the patient in his thought process.

I moved to NY and had to find a new cardiologist. Dr. Janis came highly recommended. He took the time to read through a good hundred pages of records I sent over, had them out during our initial consultation and asked questions about things he noticed in the records. After reviewing everything and giving me the time to explain my history, concerns, etc., he conducted a thorough exam. In subsequent visits, we determined my initial diagnosis from my old cardiologist was incorrect and altered my treatment regimen. I couldn't be happier. I never feel rushed and appreciate his thoroughness, openness and that he takes patient vitals himself. This dude's the real deal, not a doc who cares about maximizing # of patients, etc. Highly recommend.
Verified patient
Great first impression. The doctor came to meet me in the waiting room right on time and took his time asking me questions. Had an EKG in the office, no wait time and the entire staff was very professional.
Verified patient
I was happy to find a cardiologist that could see me right away. Dr. Janis and his staff were efficient, cordial and caring. The appointment was not rushed which made me feel as though my health was of the utmost concern to the doctor. I would highly recommend him from here on in.

Dr. Janis is everything you could ask for in a Doctor. I am a nurse so I have a good idea about what questions I am supposed to be asked and how much is often left out of assessments or just done with a lack of attention. I am not easily impressed nor do I trust easily. He is really focused and seems like a very bright person. He is not quick to start medications, but makes sure he tests everything. He also asks if you drink water and how you are eating- simple enough, but often overlooked and definitely the best prescription to start off with. I felt like he knew what he was doing clinically and, perhaps more important, I could tell he cares about what he is doing. He listens to you, he talks to you, he tries to understand your situation, and he cares how your feel. He is also very personable which never hurts. The fact that I felt I could trust him made a really scary experience so much easier. He came highly recommended by another cardiologist that I had worked with before. The cardiologist that spoke highly of him is a wonderful doctor and a caring person himself so that recommendation carried a lot of weight. So if your worried and can't decide which Dr to pick, relax....You will be in great hands!! I am going to post this review on every site I can find because patients deserve to find a great doctor. This was my first experience dealing with NYU MDs. I had also seen another Dr. for the first time earlier that day. They all document in the same chart making coordination of care much more efficient. I think it is a great system and everything was made easy for me. I can even log in to my chart to see results or communicate with the doctors.

Excellent Doctor!

Great! I don't like to write reviews but this Dr deserves it. First, all my information was taken care of fro my ZocDoc so I didn't have to fill out anything else! I sat down ready to wait and 5 mins later the Dr himself came out to get me. When was the last time you saw that? He was thorough and was very professional. He did all the assessments himself. Great bedside manner.
Verified patient
Great, as usual. He is an excellent MD.
