She attended college at Binghamtom University, and medical school at State University of New York at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. She completed her pediatric residency training at Jacobi Medical Center, affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. She moved to the west coast upon completion of her residency, and currently lives in the Bay Area with her husband and their son and daughter. Dr. Yoon also speaks Korean.
