About Dr. Rei Masui
I've always felt a strong drive to protect the innocent. Children, especially when they are very young, don't have a voice of their own, but they have so much to say if you know how to listen. Learning how to read those clues has been my life's work.
I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and completed my residencies in Pediatrics at Montefiore Medical Center and New York University Elaine A. and Kenneth G. Langone Medical Center, as well as in General Preventative Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. This diverse training has deepened my understanding of children's health and the challenges families face.
I truly enjoy helping families solve challenges and watching their children grow and progress over time. The parents I work with are an inspiration to me. I see how much they care for their children and the time and effort they put into their care. It motivates me to support and partner with them to help keep their kids healthy.
That's why listening is such an important part of my job. My office is a safe setting where parents can share their concerns without fear of judgment. As a fellow parent, I have been there, too. Maybe it's about something I can help with, like asthma, or maybe they just need someone who understands what it's like when your kid just won't sleep. There is a lot of power in just listening to what someone has to say.
